Missouri hit their schedule perfectly. Caught UF and UGA after major injuries and didn't have to face LSU, Bama, or Auburn in the west. They had a decent team play well in a weak division.

This current Mizzou team is a very talented team. They don't get enough credit. They have SEC lines on both sides of the ball. They don't reload like LSU or Bama though. Thats what redshirt players can do for you, something nonexistent at UT recently.

Bob Shoop is a good coordinator but he has and would struggle against every team Jancek struggle against. Why not wait until we have talent and the players are developed in the system.

Because he coached teams at UGA with an immeasurable amount of talent more than this D and, by most accounts, he was awful.

I sincerely miss the days when the "wait and see" argument isn't recited ad nauseum, each time a discussion about our staff comes up, coordinators and HC's alike. This isn't directed at you or anybody but if we're going to hire the best staff in America, then I expect a staff comprised of coordinators that fits the bill...not ones that are either learning how to adjust to the SEC or have previously tried and failed at a rival team.

When you continuously call the same plays that lose yards at the worst possible times, it doesn't take much to figure out someone sucks at being an OC...and that's what we have.

You have a freshman QB, inexperienced WRs, and no TE threat. Yeah he's no Gus Malzahn but we were seriously hamstringed on O. There's only so much we could do.

Final thought for the night: we need to schedule like a team that is rebuilding and not like a team that is auditioning for the playoffs. If there is a way to get out of the Oklahoma series, Hart should find it. We had no business playing Oregon this year and have none playing OU the next two years.

Mizzou and Auburn had mediocre out of conference schedules and no one seems to care.

preach!

I think what Janecek did with a really bad defense is a pretty remarkable turn around. And CBJ in general usually has a pretty good D. and he is taking care of business recruiting on D. i mean last year it was our defense that ensured Dooley's firing. This year--with the exception of maybe Oregon and Alabama--our defense didn't completely lose the game for us.

The defense lost almost every single close game for tennessee last year. florida georgia and south carolina come to mind. and its my opinion they kept a lot of games close this year.

OC on the other hand... I think I'd welcome a change there. Just don't know how different it would be. we seem to have a conservative scheme and no playmakers which basically turns into no results.

but offense was embarrassing this year. almost if not more embarrassing than defense last year. maybe its because we lost a ton of players, maybe its because it was a new scheme...not sure.

And he continued to call plays that we can't run.

Stick with what works. Run the freaking ball. No sideline to sideline throws. No freaking end around garbage. Run the ball to set up and establish the downfield passing game.

As of now we have 14 EE. That will give Butch extra time to get them implemented into his system. We have a lot of playmakers who should contribute immediately (Hurd, Pearson, ect.). We will be very improved and have an easier schedule. I see wins against Utah St, Ark St, UF, UGA, USC, Chattnoga, Vandy, UK, and possible upset of OM or Mizzu. I'm being optimistic, but I think we could have around 7 or 8 wins next year

i agree here.

i think a good OC and a good HC work with what they've got and adjust. however, if they're this good at recruiting then maybe they can bend players to fit their mold.

We should be better on both sides of the ball next year.

Depends on who steps up and how many busts will be in this class. On average there is at least around 10 busts in a class. Thats why its important to sign multiple highly coveted guys. We can't afford for our jucos to be "less than advertised."

Agreed, they were very improved, offense wasn't really good but, it's hard to bounce back after loosing players the caliber of Bray, JH, and CP

They did?

Not convinced of this with the same coordinators.

Most people praised the coordinators for the USCe and UGA game. We have played an extremely tough schedule. Both sides of the ball laid an egg against Vandy, but games like that happened. We still held Vandy under 15 points with the lackluster performance.
