Da Zone Dem Vawls vs. Candy Commodes- We Gon' Whip Dey Ass[Most Def]

Dear God, if we're going to go there, any of you who could not see Fulmer had lost touch with the game were freakin' blind. Yes, he was a great coach. No one can argue that. But that's like saying Joe Montana was a great football player. Just because he was a great player didn't mean he was going to be one forever. Something happenned in the 2001 SEC CG that changed Fulmer. He was never the same coach after. I don't know if it got into his head or if he just lost his passion, but he wasn't that same great coach anymore. Other people realize that too which is why he's never been a coach since. So get over the IG of Fulmer being fired.

Now we have the present. Butch was not left with a great team, but still, they should have done better this year. He underachieved. Pointblank, no excuses, he did not get the job done. He currently has a great class coming in, if they all stay committed. With that, and the returning players, progress absolutely must translate over to the football field next year. Another losing season and it's time for another coaching search. I don't care the rank of his recruiting class next year if he's not fielding a competitive team. Get it done on the field next year, or replace Hart and Jones.

The recruits Fulmer did bring in that were good never got coached up to their potential. He couldn't beat the new upgraded coaches that came into the conference like Saban, Meyer, Miles etc etc.

Who are you talking to? Never got coached up?

I don't get it, the coach gets fired not the players. Coaches still getting the blame.

I see too many posts giving the coaches excuses for loses. It's starting to turn a bit now, but before this week, Butch and company didn't have to make any excuses, posters on this site were making them for him.

You have been spending way too much time in the hate Fulmer threads. Use your own head and reason. Kiffen suck from day one, Dooley sucked from day one, Jones sucked before he started, if you want to play that game.

Which is why we make fun of the ff. Those people are idiots.

Not talking to you. I know you have a hard time understanding stuff that's typed in here but the coaching by the Fulmer regime lost a bunch of games to teams with inferior talent thus the players on Tennessee's teams didn't receive the coaching help that would have put them in a position to win more games against the other teams in the conference. Hard for you to understand I know but study it for a while and it may sink in.

 So there's 4 or 5 SEC champions each year?

Either Saban or Myles are always in that game. Meyer was when he was an SEC coach. A team lucks into those guys. Maybe Butch is one of them. Hell, Saban had a crappy first season at bama. I'm just tired of waiting. Either way we can all blame Mike Hamilton rather it be the firing or the hiring or both.

Mack Brown is living the Fulmer life. They love him. It's ugly as sh!t. It ain't easy on anybody and it will get worse before it gets better.

I don't hate Fulmer, but I remember what I saw. He was clearly not the same coach after that 2001 SEC CG. I'm not a bury my head in the sand type of guy. I'll bend a little to try and keep peace, but I pretty much call it like I see it. Despite the love and respect I had for the man, coaching passed Fulmer by and there was no reason to let him drag the team down with him. The team is always bigger than the coach, no matter who the coach is.

Random rule question. I thought you could block in the back if behind the line of scrimmage? Or did I just make that up?

I guess I was confused with the phrases you used as I've seen them too often in those threads. I never see them in the praise drunk Johnny Ball threads.

Hindsight is 20/20 but your memory is fuzzy. For the better part of Fulmer's career, our destiny was decided against UF and/or UGA. Our expectations were 1st or 2nd in the SEC East.

Honestly, the worst thing about this loss to me is losing the extra practices. Any bowl would have been a **** bowl, but those extra practices are invaluable. It would have allowed the coaches to see the EEs.

I haven't seen where extra practices with bowl games have helped us the last 5 years. Extra practices don't mean ****. And, **** bowls are called that for a reason.
