Recruiting Forum: Football Talk VIII

First off, I hate Spurrier...But, I really, really do not want his legacy tainted with a couple of years too long where he looks like a senile old man trying to recapture his glory days. He's a helluva coach and a Tennessee boy and I hope he cashes in his chips and enjoys retirement soon.

Spurrier strikes me as a guy that can live without football. It's widely known he doesn't spend the office hours of most bigtime HC and the golf course is very appealing to him. The end is near and the 19th hole is as well IMO

SIAP.

"Winning will only make recruiting better for the Vols, very good recruiting class and 2015 could be special if they continue to show progress. This is a different team under Butch Jones, he has a great recruiting staff and kids are gravitating towards the Vols. Hot team right now, on the lips of many recruits."

with one more BIG win like Saturday who knows...???

Coach Stripling is a great coach, you can tell the diffence from last year. Our D-line is getting off the edge and pressure and we are finally getting sacks. Marlon Walls already has 4.5 sacks this year, which may be more than what we had as a total for last year.

The return of even a "fair" pass rush has made our defense SOOOOO much better.

Strip is earning that money.

I think a lot of that credit goes to a vastly improved secondary. Spurrier said it himself we called a lot more pass plays than 21. The secondary did it's job in turn freeing up the line to get after the QB. Simply put the entire defense is playing as a team. I had huge concerns about the former UGa staff but they've done very well.

Excellent piece. I really liked the conclusion. Win or lose this team is fun to root for.

I noticed Butch covered For Neal on that forward pass. First thing I thought of is that he didn't throw him under a bus like Dooley always would do with the players, just to get a big laugh.

Help with the top ten reasons Vols beat bammers -

10 - AJ's hot, AU grad-girlfriend dumps him just before game because he doesn't like her Hardees commercial.

9 - T-Town Tom forgets its gameday and has half the starters signing autographs at T-Town Menswear.

8 - Other half of starters are taking "loan" money to replenish their Dodge Chargers.

7 - Ha Ha forgets that North indeeds goes north, not east/ west.

6 - Vols decide its time to retake Neyland Stadium West.
