I think we need a game this week that is somewhat similar to the game we played against Bama in 2009...low scoring defensive dog fight. If our defense can somehow hold Bama to @ 20 points, then I think we will have our chance late in the 4th quarter. Palardy, you got the game winner this week? :)

So does anyone have any reason, besides blind optimism and hope, that we can beat Bama?

I'm looking at some stats, and it's not pretty.

McCarron 69.2% comp, 14 TD, 3 INT
Team Rushing: 6.0 YPC
Receiving: Top 6 receivers averaging over 10 yards per catch.
Scoring: 40.7 ppg
Defense: 9.7 ppg

Besides Texas A&M (42), no one has scored more than 10. A pretty good Ole Miss was shut out.

So let's hear it boys! and please don't just post this:

I think it's clear that if Tennessee is in the game in the fourth then the other teams needs to pray cause this team has enough confidence to win it. They also found out how to win it. It'll be a very interesting game.

UGA was supposed to blow us out and USC was supposed to run all all over us with Shaw and Davis and win big too.

Like I said, if we beat Bama, which I think we will, our fans will start to believe again and no longer think we're going to lose. It's coming...

I'll say this: don't count this team out of any game, going forward. This staff has out-coached the two longest-tenured head coaches in the SEC, both with an undeniable advantage in overall talent, two weeks in a row...with the least experienced WR corps in the country, a QB with a fraction of the SEC experience of the opposition's QB, a secondary that was one of the worst in the country last year, and a DL that couldn't reach the quarterback to save their lives last year.

The amount of improvement this team has shown, coupled with the unconditional and undying trust and love this team has exhibited towards the staff is....remarkable, to say the least.

The next two weeks might not go as we all would hope for or like, but don't count them out.

The one thing I've thought they needed to learn, more than anything, is how to win...now they have . We might not compete for the East this year but our division rivals have officially been put on notice....the beast has awoken and its hungry, pissed off, and out for blood.

Its Bama week....I want a win more than anything but I'd take leaving a dazed, battered, and bruised Bama that feels like they just went 15 rounds with a grizzly bear and is thankful just to be alive.

Time to take back our respect.

I don't think we beat bama, and I'm ok with that. Just come out swingin, hit em in the mouth and throw everything at them. Who knows what will happen, but lets make them scared to come to neyland next year!!

Great stuff. And the truly remarkable thing, once they start winning, the buy-in becomes inherent. They see their own progress on film. They see what that progress turns into. It makes that push toward excellence that much easier. It makes the grind that much more tolerable. Because they see and feel the results. Success breeds success.

This rock is starting to roll.

How many players have we injured this year? At some point it will start getting in our opponent's heads and they will play scared.
