At least Foster used the ole' "I can't afford to eat even though I'm a finer physical specimen than you will ever be" excuse. We should commend him for that.

I believe so, but it is still a bush league move to throw this crap out there one day from one of our biggest rivalry games. I don't think the ncaa can do anything about this.

Perhaps. Notice, however, that he mentions football and basketball players namely. Guys who will get under the table money regardless. If any athletes really need money, then it's the ones that no one cares about, like rowers, swimmers, tennis players, wrestlers, etc.

On a related note, I honestly don't care if they get paid. I don't even care if boosters, or whoever, give them 500 dollar handshakes. They're all adults and should be able to handle their own commerce. The NCAA uses them like chattle, so why not allow them to get some too?

Said it before and I will say it again. They sign a contract (in conjunction with their parents) that says I will play football in exchange for a shot at a college education valued at around 100-200 thousand dollars. Playing for free? Hardly. If you don't want to play for the scholarship, don't sign up for it.
The money made by the university on football generally pays for all other sports, because most of the rest of them lose money.

I would hope our guys are dialed in to what they gotta do and aren't paying much attention to message boards, news stories and the like. None of the players or coaches were here when Arian was playing anyway.

haha! Yeah, no kidding. But, like Wu-Tang says, nothing will come of this. So I'm not worried. I just find his comments amusing.

I haven't watched film on any of them. I did not see the AP game because they didn't show it up here. I would say tossup again. That was a close game with Western Michigan. AP and Western Michigan are closer to Nicholls than any are to UT. Toledo is probably in between. If we are only as good as Toledo, we aren't beating anyone in the SEC but maybe Kentucky. I don't see UT as that bad. I realize they are not good this year.
What point are you trying to make. I think if UT plays their best, and Florida doesn't, it will be close. If both play their best, UT gets beat by 10-14. It UT doesn't play their best and Florida does, 3-4 tds.

Oh I agree nothing will happen. Yep, no food in the fridge is the reason he took side money....very amusing. Lol
