My bama friend has been texting me all night about this and that is what he said too:
"The author of article says he wont be turning anything over to ncaa and he doubts they can get the info he has.. Says he doesnt want any players\schools to get in trouble.. Just shining a spotlight on the dirty business of agents and saying players should get paid etc.. We will see"
It's not good for Mo Couch. His college career could very well be over. As for Tennessee, I don't think there is a huge issue there because they were unaware of anything until they received a call from Yahoo just after lunch to let them know a story was coming around 5pm.
The likely loss of Couch is tough for this weekend and someone like Saulsberry or Walls is going to have to step up more.
He did what he did and you don't know he took the money to feed his kid. What he did could be justified but still against the rules. I understand both sides and I personally think he's not going to suit up in orange again.Yeah Mo, screw feeding your daughter and taking care of your wife. Here it comes...waiting...
Nobody knows what he used the money for, could be for what you mentioned or for all we know it could have been used to buy coccaine
Frankly, I don't care what he used the money for. He made a poor life decision, and he's utlimately going to hurt himself and this football team. UT's AD pays compliance officers to teach players about these situations and how to make the right decisions.
If he was having issues feeding his wife or daughter, that's a family and personal issue. IMHO, that's when you reach out to family and friends, not some NFL "concierge" or agent.
Hubbs seems to think Couch could be done
Not saying what he did is right by any means, but if his season is over, then that is a shame. Manziel gets suspended a half, Cam Newton gets a NC and Auburn gets a slap on the wrist, and Couch misses the last 10 games of his senior year for taking A LOT less? Now, if his season is over because Butch makes the call, not the NCAA, in order to make a statement to the team and future players, then I'm fine with that.
