texas u is very liberal...does not fit with the conservative state of Texas

So Coach Sumlin for aTm is what?

Your post and opinion is ignorant and truly bass ackward

Most colleges are liberal however the money people at that school are not. I am not a racist by any means but I edited what I said to prove a point.

People need to get their auto clickers going! We can't let the WKU Herpy Sores beat us at anything

Well they can't let those lovely t-shirts go to waste and after they got curb stomped on the field this is their last hope to make those shirts not look completely stupid LOL

No one has said it, but Bobby Petrino to Texas. Get a top notch DC, and look out. Heck, I'd get Ellis Johnson to come with him

Hell there's plenty of racism in the politics thread, they don't even hide it. Perhaps that talk should be taken over there.

Anyway, would Texas hire Charlie Strong? He'll probably go undefeated thru his HS schedule yet not get to play for the NC. That might be enough to push him away from Louisville if offered. And keep in mind....Mack Brown wasn't a Nick Saban level coach when hired away from UNC.

If Strong repeats last year's performance, he might be a good candidate. Times were different when Mack was hired though.

One thing about Team 117, they all "Gave their all for Tennessee" yesterday.
Best part of the game for me. Our team showed hustle, desire and the right attitude from kickoff til time expired.

So sick of the athletes that take plays off or give up when hit with any adversity.

Team 117 has a lot of work to do and improvements to make through this year. Desire and attitude are just fine :hi:

Happy to Bleed Orange again. Have been feeling anemic for years, good to see a team with fight in 'em :)

Its a complete failure of our coaching staff if in 3rd and 6 or 7 and longer if Brewer/Sapp are not in the nickel package. AJ should not see the field in these scenarios.

He is a solid run defender inside the box, thats really it.

Yeah this staff has no damn clue. Those damn coaches who've been coaching longer than you. What do they know.

Or maybe coaches are trying to teach him to improve in live games when the opponent can help (and still win the game) :)

Not meant for you, darkgable, but who you were quoting

I am a racist and this is my bigot opinion: Texas would not hire Franklin. Why, because he is black. You can disagree with me if you want but Texas is more bass ackward then anywhere else in the country. I don't agree with but that is a fact.

Damn. Tell us what you really think.

I won't lie some of this stuff doesn't take rocket science guys. You have better guys for the job put them in. AJ isn't good at all in pass coverage.

Agreed. AJJ is a huge liability in coverage, period. He's a good run stopper but he lacks the speed to even cover TE's.

If anyone wants proof, watch next week as Mariota runs by him like his feet are in quicksand.

I like AJJ, but that doesn't prevent me from seeing what is and what isn't.

Perhaps racist isn't the word, but I don't know of one the fits better....stereotyping, perhaps? Which, IMO. is just a form of racism.

My point is, this isn't pre-civil rights era, while racism is undeniably still alive and well, it irritates me to no end when people accuse major institutions of being racist when there's little to no evidence of such, recently.

You can call me an idiot, or whatever you like. Doesn't change the fact that you're stereotyping an entire university based on nothing more than location, the demographic of their fan base and/or administration, and their history of being a school in the south/southwest.

If Mississippi State is foreward thinking enough to hire Sylvester Croom, then the tea sippers in Austin are waaay out ahead.
It is kind of strange for someone to make the blanket statement that Texas wouldn't hire a black coach. Especially with the success Kevin Sumlin had with A&M. Where's the facts to support the argument? Waiting....

I'll say this, the same thing was said about Alabama. They offered Mike Shula over Sylvester Croom the year this discussion was heavy. But I'm not getting into this conversation at all.

Agreed. Truth is, Sumlin was the best person for the job, A&M recognized that, and then hired him. I have no doubt that UT-lite will do the same.

Regardless of skin color, Texas will hire the best man for the job; black, white, purple, or martian.

I find purple and Martian are the same category. Jmo SIAP
