Ready to see how Sutton progresses throughout the season. Watched the game over and UT finally looks a bit athletic on defense. AJ is still looking like a tackler but not a hitter at LB. He's a liability in the passing game too. Need to get JRM more reps as a nickel backer. Want him and Sapp in on 3rd and long,

Isn't AJ in and Sapp out in our nickel coverage??

If so isn't it as simple as just swapping them and not needing JRM to play??

That's how I took it. Worley's development will be interesting to track. Your concerns may be justified. I am looking for him to continue to improve.

I just didn't see any improvement from last week. Consistently behind receivers beyond 10yd. Excellent manager and great on short throws, but eventually teams with decent CBs will play us close and intercept those underthrown deep balls.

Here's to hoping you're right but...did you see Mariota today? He's almost as fast as Deanthony Thomas, and he plays QB. He's this year's RG3, IMO...and our D still lacks overall speed. Not. Good.

Their D isn't great though, but neither is our offense.

It could be a reverse of this week's score. We might hang with them but I think they eventually impose their will on us in the second half.

I think we'll see Pig get more touches next week. Wouldn't surprise me to see them get him the ball a few different ways...bubble screens, wildcat, etc.

There was a screen sighting today... Been any years since we've used those. Hope to see more.

JW doesn't appear to be the qb of the future, but it's not like when Bray came in and he was playing with veteran WRs, and the WRs he'd been throwing to all year with the 2s. I think Worley is getting a little too much of the blame with how young all the receivers are. But like I said, he doesn't appear to be the man, but we also have two blowout victories over teams we should blow out, so he's doing what he needs to do!

Agreed. That's one thing that surprised me these first few games. I was expecting more bubble, quick, and tunnel screens. Hopefully we see them more. Really good way to get yards, especially when the QB is struggling.

Thanks. Then damn why take a former safety off the field in the nickel. Keep brewer out there and get AJ of the field.

Why wouldn't that work??

I would think that might be best. They actually did let Sapp and Brewer play a few snaps together in the 2nd half in a 3-2-6 dime package and it seemed to work well. I love AJ, but he is a liability in coverage.

This sums up this game and the last year or two at texas.

So who y'all got to take over at Texas next season?

I think the real question is:

Who does UF hire to replace Muschamp when Texas hires him?

Could definitely see UF, Mizzou, and Vandy holding coaching searches at the end of the year with Alabama, Miss. State, and Georgia also possibilities.
