15 GA OLB/RB Eric Swinney

Not much to tell.

Mentioned us 1st out of the 3 teams. Said Gillespie is like a father figure to him. Will visit for sure in the Fall, just not sure when. I like where we are.

SKILL ASSESSMENT: Swinney is known for running over Ohio State freshman Vonn Bell at the goal line in their state championship game from a season ago but he's more than just a one-play wonder. Swinney is a terrific athlete with great wiggle and speed and, as seen on the play against Bell, isn't afraid to lower his shoulder.

STATUS WITH VOLS: Tennessee, the first school to offer Swinney, currently is in the top three for Swinney, along with Ole Miss and Auburn. Swinney has already been on Tennessee's campus several times and talks to Robert Gillespie often. Tennessee is off to a good start here.

OTHERS INVOLVED: Ole Miss, Auburn, Georgia, Georgia Tech, Vanderbilt

Not saying it's relevant but while on a OV Swinney was recruiting Chris Williams to UT. Swinney was talking nothing but UT all night, seemed too hyped up over what we are doing right now. Hopefully it's a sign of things to come, kid is a BALLER.

Good post. I think we take Swinney and Weber at RB and call it. Hopefully we can overcome distance with Weber. Swinney seems to be #1 for us.

Not an official visit. Gotta be a senior for it to be official.

"It was amazing. The atmosphere was amazing for a noon game. It was pretty fun. It was pretty interesting," Swinney said. "This was my first time up for a game. I game up for a spring game but it was nothing like that. It was amazing, the fans were amazing everybody was hyped up. "

"They ran the ball a lot. I talked to coach (Robert) Gillespie after the game and he said they ran the ball 41 times in the game so that's a positive thing for me," Swinney said. "They run the power and that's what my team runs, we run the power a little and that's what it looked like a little bit."

"Knoxville is just a beautiful place," Swinney said. "I like everything about Knoxville and I like the coaching staff. Plus, it's just a quick little drive up there."

"I don't really have a top group or anything, I 'm still open to everybody but Tennessee is pretty much at the top of my recruiting list. They are up there," Swinney said. " They run the ball a lot and that's what I want to do. And the coaching staff, they're trying to build a winning team and start some great things."
