Disagree.

If they can't, they need to be flipping a QB by NSD.

agreed I think them not going after a QB this year shows they feel good about the two they brought in last year - if they feel good about them then that is not good news for JW's playing time

I don't know the date that 1 of the 3 freshmen will start but it will be soon imo

Who is the most mobile out of that group? I think the guy who can gain a couple of yards here and there with his feet is the guy who's going to give us the best boost in offensive production and sustaining drives. Especially with the young receivers, we're not going to have 40 yard bombs to CP and Hunter to bail us out.

probably Peterman

One thing about this QB battle is we need to roll with the guy who takes care of the ball and is most accurate. This O-line can pass block out of this world so the QBs shouldn't be rushing when it comes to progressions. If Worley isn't more accurate than any of the young guys I say roll with one of them and be done with it.

he has thrown for 1 TD and 5 INT while here - I think it is fair to say he hasnt shown a lot by his performance

Mostly as a true frosh against the #8 and #14 teams in the country. If he truly hasn't progressed since then, we will see a change pretty quickly. However, to say the kid sucks based on stats from his freshmen year and mop up role last year is just silly.

While Worley obviously hasn't blown the doors off of anybody when given the chance, it feels kind of unfair to assume that he's terrible already. He was like the Gatorade National Player of the year his last year in HS. So it's not like he's some scrub.

I think our Coach is going to play the guy that gives us the best chance to win the most games, no matter what.

I believe no matter who the starting QB ends up being this passing offense will be mostly a short to intermediate game with a lot of quick 3 step drop passes. Not gonna see a lot of long shots down the field this year IMO.

Of course it was just MTSU but I thought Worley had a nice game that night as a True Freshman two years ago. 23/32 for 291 yards and TD pass.

Again, yes it was just MTSU but he was also just a True Freshman at the time. He's two years older, stronger and smarter. Hopefully he makes the most of his opportunity if Butch names him starter. GBO!

I didn't say he definitely sucked now - however he has thrown for 1 TD and 5 pics so again it is fair to question him based on his performance - he struggled in the Spring game, and according to reports is not lighting it up thus far for CBJ in practice

also that #8 team was Arky who did not have a good defense so he wasnt going up against an elite defense by any stretch of the imagination

Thanks for sharing that. Da'Rick was such a monster that year. Wish he would have stayed out of trouble. I also wish DeAnthony Arnett was still around. He would have been the man this year.

And yeah, Worley has potential for sure. He's not as bad as we've started to make him sound on here. It's just so hard not to want that freshman potential.

MTSU was terrible.

Sad we only beat them 24-0.

just so everyone else has a little background on that - that MTSU team was 2-10

Purdue, Ga tech, Troy, WKU, LA Lafayette, LA monroe, Arky state, FL Intnl, and N Texas all put up more points on them than we did

LA Lafayette, LA monroe, Arky state, and N Texas all put up 40+

not sure i would put 24 points by a UT QB against that team as too much of a plus

Erik Ainge keeps talking on his show about how bad of an attitude Devrin Young has. He's said it multiple times. Which seems weird to me. Everything I've ever seen about him made me think that he was obviously a team first kind of a guy. I never thought for a second that he wasn't all in with the Butch Jones hire.

I just haven't seen anybody else say this kind of thing except for Ainge. Did Devrin sleep with his wife or something? What's the deal? Anyone know?
I think Ainge personally didn't like what Devrin did so is making more of a big deal out of it than it is. So what if he raised his hands up to say bring it up a bit. The ball was thrown low and just maybe Devrin is being competitive. Ainge make it more about himself since he's the former player he knows what everybody's thinking.
