A LB at nickel???

Very odd

He was recruited to be the Star for the 3-4 so not sure how its surprising. Kid is a football player you can't put him almost anywhere and he will be solid

Riley Ferguson was most productive QB in live team work today, per Butch Jones. He quickly adds not to write that Riley is the starter.

And to think that there were some people on here willing to let Ferguson go.

I'm saying he was a safety last week. It's not absurd to think he still has a DB body/speed. They may have moved him to LB for the long term capabilities. So, my point is, for this year, he could still be one of our best 5 DB's.

I'm not sure if Butch is using Riley to motivate Worley or if he actually thinks Ferguson could start. It's fun to watch.

I think Coach is waiting for Worley to grab WRs by the facemask and tell them they "better start catching the effing ball or I'll knock your head off" In other words, he wants his A Wolf to start lighting a fire under offense players so he doesn't have to. Worley (or someone) needs to get it in his head that he is expected to do this for the coach.

We have alot of quality weapons on the offensive side of the ball. The OL and RBs will help the passing game alot. With Worley starting, I think the offense will click early.

IMO the passing game will be a lot closer to 2009-2010 than it was with Bray at the helm, no question. For all his faults, Bray has some special talent. I think we'll really struggle against elite defenses. But I don't think it will be quite as bad as the Simms experiment.

I have no idea what this equates to numerically. I could see Worley shredding weaker SEC teams for 250+ yards only to get completely shut down by, say, Florida. We will see.

Hard to know truth from coaching spin. It's all we have to talk about but it certainly should be taken with a grain of salt.

I'm really worried that our passing game is going to resemble the first half of the 2009 and 2010 seasons--i.e., pathetic.

I know we've got inexperience in the passing game but I don't think it'll be pathetic. We're lucky to have an Oline like we do. I'd likely say it could be pathetic if we didn't have the Oline we do. I'd think we'll try to throw as much as possible the first two games to get guys experience as well as confidence at both qb and wr.

Living down the street would do me no good. Watching the team play and reading comments by people in the know give me a little insight. What do you base your opinion of WKU on? You admit to know nothing about them yet feel qualified to critique/debase/ insult them.
Stars as we all no are questionable sometimes. I would prefer things like statistics and pro scout comments and levels of experience.
I am not sure if I ever said anything about equal talent. I said (for the reading impaired) that WKU was not the trainwreck that they were when they came to Knoxville.
Why are you so offended that someone disagrees with your opinion, especially when you have no knowledge of the subject that you are opining on?
Heaven forbid, someone disagees with you about something important! We would have to call the men in the white coats with straitjackets and tranquilizers.

I just wanted to point out that you spelled this wrong. Before you insult someone's intelligence, I'd recommend proofreading your own remarks.

Hasn't it been said that Ferguson is more of an alpha male type? You may be right about coaches wanting the qb to take more command of the offense and that's why we keep hearing good things about Fergy.

I know it appears a QB hasn't really seperated themselves from the pack yet, but some of that has to be attributed to the fact that we have 4 pretty talented guys all competing. It's not too common that a team has 2 freshman of this caliber.

Worley would start. I think Peterman would be second, but Ferguson is really pushing him in my opinion. He's seeing a lot of second team reps.

Right now, I don't think so by the AP game. I think Worley is the game one starter.

I think you have to start Worley the first few games in the least. You risk losing your Seniors and older players, IMO. I think they would feel like he's selling out for the future and not worried about the present or this year.

I know it appears a QB hasn't really seperated themselves from the pack yet, but some of that has to be attributed to the fact that we have 4 pretty talented guys all competing. It's not too common that a team has 2 freshman of this caliber.

Also, all 4 are learning the new system. If Chaney was still around, Worley and Peterman would be far ahead at this point, as would any WRs left from last year. I think they are all struggling with learning and being productive in an unfamiliar offense. It should click with the older guys first as they are used to the other stressors of college life(from academics to girlfriends, to laundry). I would hate for either of the freshmen to be named as the starter during camp when the only thing they have to think about is football, only to see them wilt under the combined strain of football and college life.
