Because you're down the street from an opposing school does not make you an evaluater of talent. You seem to think you have some level of knowledge above who you're talking to. People have the right to question and ridicule your argument. You have no valid argument to support your claim that Western Gumtucky has equal talent. If you do please layout the spreadsheet showing your claim. Start with stars my friend.
Gumtucky? That is cute. Did you come up with that one all by yourself or did your kindergarden teacher help you?
Living down the street would do me no good. Watching the team play and reading comments by people in the know give me a little insight. What do you base your opinion of WKU on? You admit to know nothing about them yet feel qualified to critique/debase/ insult them.
Stars as we all no are questionable sometimes. I would prefer things like statistics and pro scout comments and levels of experience.
I am not sure if I ever said anything about equal talent. I said (for the reading impaired) that WKU was not the trainwreck that they were when they came to Knoxville.
Why are you so offended that someone disagrees with your opinion, especially when you have no knowledge of the subject that you are opining on?
Heaven forbid, someone disagees with you about something important! We would have to call the men in the white coats with straitjackets and tranquilizers.
On the opening conversion attempt, quarterback Justin Worley --- who continues to garner the majority of first-team snaps during open periods --- hit Brendan Downs as he dragged across the field from right to left.
Nathan Peterman opened with the second-team offense and threw an interception to Max Arnold, who broke brilliantly on the pass and stepped in front of Devrin Young before Young had the opportunity to turn around and find the football.
In some one-on-one pass skeleton and team work, Worley opened up with a trio of targets to freshman wideout Marquez North. The former U.S. Army All-America selection snagged the first toss down the left sideline and also worked a curl and crossing route. An incompletion to Rajion Neal was more because of good coverage than poor offensive execution.
With Peterman at the helm, Jason Croom caught a pass but was forced to fumble by Christian Harris. Peterman hit Jacob Carter on a crossing and Riley Ferguson connected with Croom on a short crossing pattern, but Curt Maggitt brought down Croom despite a stiff-arm attempt.
Jalen Reeves-Maybin has worked his way into the second-team rotation at the nickel position. Tom Smith continues to work on some starting roles in special teams.
The Vols then worked extensively in special teams --- and quickly drew the ire of head coach Butch Jones when the punt unit badly malfunctioned. Jones jerked players off the field and also alternately used the terms "synchronized softness" and "Bad News Bears" to describe his squad's effectiveness.
As Rob Lewis tweeted earlier today, Johnathon Johnson and Jaylen Miller are the latest newcomers to have the black stripes removed from their helmets.
In the 'black hole' for rehab today at various points were: Michael Williams, Paul Harris, Jacques Smith, Ryan Jenkins, Johnathon Johnson, Matt Giampapa and Michael Palardy all worked at times there. It appeared Giampapa and Palardy were sent to the hole after some special teams work was ineffective.
Didn't know I had to. I like a lot of players in this class. Just because I didn't list them doesn't mean I don't like them.
You guys are acting toward Tee like you would with a girl that dumped you. C'mon now. Tee was the QB of our Nat'l Championship Team! He made a career decision that was best for him and his family. We shouldn't be hating on him. Things worked out for the best.

You don't but with the huge need on the DL I don't see how one could not expect a DL to be a top 5 contributor. Nothing against other recruits that might be more talented but the needs won't allow them to have the same impact IMO.

A LB at nickel???
Very odd
That's kinda what I was thinking. I think he's probably one of the better defensive players that we have on our team and the coaches are just trying to find a way to make sure the best 11 are on the field at the same time.
But I'm not 100% clear on what exactly the nickle position's responsibilities are. Can somebody explain that to me?
Even if it is "the nickel" DB, he just moved to LB. It's not like he's a 5th yr senior. And a lot of times, your nickel is a safety because of run responsibility and blitzing.
