Of the incoming '14 class, who are your top-5 impact players next year? Here's mine:
(1) Lambert - Starting 3-technique DT
(2) Lauderdale - Starting WR
(3) Weatherd - Starting OLB
(4) Hurd - Competes with Lane for starting RB
(5) Jackson - Competes for #3 WR (behind North and Lauderdale)
Probably the right guys, but I personally would put Hurd at top. I think our offense will struggle to move the ball at times this year. I think Hurd has the talent to take our offense immediately from average to very, very good.
Given all the upgrades in overall talent and speed on defense, I think Hurd's talent will be the difference in us winning and losing some games next year.
Yeah but it will be interesting to see how our offensive line comes together next year. It will basically be all new guys up front.
Here comes the toothless jokes. The cry of desperation from a poster when discussing anything related to KY. Unfortunately when I lived in FL I listened to the same crap said about people from TN. Funny how that works.
I also just noticed the Cowboy logo as one of your favorite teams. How can you live in TN and not root for the Titans? Why don't you follow the home state team?
Are you from TX?
I am through with this conversation with you. I can get more intelligent responses from a 5 year old than you can provide. Your lack of analytical skills and intelligence is embarrassing. Maybe the glue you sniffed as a teen is catching up with you.
1) Lambert (DT) - Agreed
2) Kelly Jr. (S) - Have a feeling he'll be a leader from day one
3) Hurd (RB) - Too much talent to keep him on the bench for long
4) Mouhon (LB) - He just seems nasty to me
5) Medley (K) - Could have the best opportunity to win the starting job of any freshman.
Not trying to be a Nega-Vol, anyone wondering why the QBs haven't lost their stripes yet?
From all of VQ reports, Riley is pushing Peterman for the #2 spot and Dobbs is doing ok himself. Just wondering
Well aren't their "big brother" or whatever the one that is supposed to take it off. I would assume that Worley is the big brother to one of them. But I don't really know.
In other news... I can't shake the feeling that we are going to be terrible if Worley wins the quarterback job. Someone please tell me I'm wrong.
Because you're down the street from an opposing school does not make you an evaluater of talent. You seem to think you have some level of knowledge above who you're talking to. People have the right to question and ridicule your argument. You have no valid argument to support your claim that Western Gumtucky has equal talent. If you do please layout the spreadsheet showing your claim. Start with stars my friend.I appreciate your tolerance. However, since you know nothing about AP, VU and TSU (based upon your own statement) how can you know enough about WKU to know whether my opinion is off-base and asinine?
In some ways, knowing nothing about your opponents shows that you are only interested in UT and no one else, which is commendable. The flip side of that is that you (not meaning you specifically) do not have the knowledge base to make predictions and analyses of games and their outcomes (as many have done as it relates to WKU and UT).
I am not trying to be difficult, but I enjoy discussions when the participants have facts to base their opinions on, not just blind allegiance and emotion.--
Did not mean to offend.
I was in the Navy and never lost stripes but did have a couple Captain's Masts in my 6 years. So I take it you also enjoyed your time in the service?![]()

You're wrong.
There; feel better?
Seriously, if it was that bad I'd think we'd know it by now. I do think the staff will go with the best option and I think it will be a competent move. I trust them and have no idea at this point who they will go with. The takeaway I have from the staff is that all the QBs have gotten better in fall camp. I think that's a good thing, obviously.
Yeah you're right. I need to be talked off the ledge sometimes. There's just something about Worley that I don't quite trust. He may be super talented and technically a good quarterback and still not win us very many games. But also, I realize that his interviews with the media and little tidbits of reports that I've read can't possibly be a fair measure of how he's going to do on the field. I'm just thinking about it too much.
I'm also just excited about the potential of the other 3 guys. I haven't seen them play, so I automatically assume they are all going to be unbelievable in my mind, which is probably an unhealthy thought process. But go Vols though right?
Probably depends on your definition of "terrible." If terrible means we're going to lose to all our most hated rivals, then yes, I agree with you. I think we're going to lose to all of them.
But if terrible means we're also going to lose 8 or more games for the first time in the history of Tennessee, then I disagree.
My take from practice reports is that we're going to have our struggles this year on offense regardless of who wins the quarterback job. Worley's not great and the other guys just don't have enough experience.
But I think we'll be good enough to make a bowl game. Which is a solid year, given our talent and schedule.
My expectations of this season isn't really based on our final record. I mean it kinda is, but I just want us to win the games we should win, win some of the games we can win, and keep it close in the games we shouldn't win.
Dooley could never do those last two things. All I want is for us to be better than that.
lol - Not too many feel comfortable in the face of uncertainty. I just think that the reason we haven't had the separation that CBJ is looking for in order to name a starter is not that they're all bad but they are all progressing at about the same pace and they are progressing. Worley has some maturity and maybe his leadership stands out more than the others. Nate is probably more versatile than JW but needs to develop more in other areas (mental), and RF is perhaps more accurate but maybe needs more reps. I honestly haven't heard or read a lot about JD and that's a bit surprising for a couple of reasons.
