We're not. I've been over in the FF too much. Some are looking for a permanent change, etc.

Yep, no problem for something of the kind for a special opponent or special day. Nothing, permanent, though. Some are of the opinion the Jones can change whatever on a permanent basis. That's where I disagree. He's earned nothing at this point. I honestly hope that changes soon.

I agree. I like the idea of a one game deal. Permanence is dumb - marketing a team is should not be handled by the coach either. He should have a voice though while he is there.

Unlike the last 2 coaches UT has hired, Jones has been a winner every place he's ever coached. I say Day 1

He's here. He needs time. He's most likely going to do poorly this year, and people calling for him to be fired after a single season won't be able to see the forest for the trees.

He's here. Deal with it. Embrace him.

If he fails in his third season, then by all means demand his firing. You have to give the man time, tho.

When he wins? Obviously, right away. But, as I've said, I'm not throwing myself out there anymore on an unproven coach. Four wasted years on that. I really hope Jones is the one, but the proof will be in the win/loss column. Hob, it's more against the ******* UT hiring system and their their reluctance to spend a few bucks for a proven coach than it is against Jones. I need to see something on the field rather than press clippings or videos of people talking.

If he fails in his first season, I'm done with him. I'm not into the paying someone to fail for 3-4 years. Obviously, the remaining time I have left on this orb could be an influence in the decision. He comes out of the gate winning or he packs his bags and heads out.
