A productive inside player with a physique that's built for carving out space on the blocks, Turman is a 'grown man' on the glass with a developing low post game. A physical defender, he doesn't shy away from contact on either end of the floor and has the strength to make a potentially quick transition to the more physical college game.
Turman may make programs wait awhile on his college decision, though for the moment Tennessee appears to be in good shape.
"Tennessee and Mississippi State are the two schools that probably are recruiting me the hardest," Turman said. "Those two, Alabama, Georgia, South Carolina, and Miami lately, those are schools I hear a lot from.
"I'm not too close to doing anything. I'd like to take some visits first. Right now I'm leaning towards waiting until next spring to sign."
Turman added that he's never visited Knoxville, though he plans to in the fall.
Asked what he knew about the Vols that has sparked some early interest, he cited the coaching staff as the main draw for him at this point.
"Coach Martin and coach Webster, those are the two coaches that I talk to from Tennessee, just hearing what they have to say, getting to know them, that's the big thing about Tennessee right now," Turman offered.
