'14 IN SG Jaquan Lyle

Lyle calls himself a mamma's boy, so it may come down to whether Cuonzo can convince mom that he and his program are worth the extra 3 hour drive to see her son play.
Hoping he comes across as worth it like he did with datkid's dad.
Time to cross your fingers and hold your breath on this on.

Yeah if we can get past his mom we have a good shot. We have to get him down during the Georgia game show him how the fans come out and give him the same mini scrimmage that Hubbs got and I think we will be in good hands

I think this is gonna come down to which coach the parents like the most. If that happens Tennessee will have a five star point guard. I think it is us or Louisville and they have that National Championship program and are closer to home than we are. Still CCM has been connecting with parents and that is our chance to win Lyle to Tennessee.

Someone needs to remind lyles momma and grandma what pitino enjoys doing in restaurants.

I still think Coach Martin is more of a relationship guy with parents. He sent a Mother's Day card to Robert Hubb's mom and he said that he was really impressed with that. Yes, Rick Pitino is a good coach but Martin is a better influence also.

I haven't kept up with Lyle's recruitment, but I'm originally from Northwest KY. I played all the HS in the Evansville area, including Memorial, Bosse, North, Central, Castle, etc. Evansville is not far from Bloomington, and with IU's recent success, the IU pride has returned, big time. There has always been an overwhelmingly large base of IU fans in Evansville, as it is a state school, and it's really close to many people's homes. It would surprise me if IU wasn't strongly in contention for him until the very end.

I know CCM want do that but if I could talk to them I sure would in a nice way of course.:dance2: I like our chances with Lyle I think we win with his mother if we can convince her Tennessee is not to far from home.

They are definitely in his top five or four but I don't mind going out on a limb and say that Tennessee and Louisville are the leaders.

One thing on Lyle...you know the staff must feel pretty confident about their chances if they were willing to tell Richmond to hold off.

Thats all well and good but I seem to remeber a thread you started about eggs in one basket.

So far, we have two known cases of going all-in for one player. It worked with Hubbs, who consequently mentioned the strategy as a key to picking Tennessee, and it backfired with Nichols. It's difficult to say that strategy is flawed when CCM is batting .500 with it so far, though I admit it makes me nervous as heck.

In this case, I don't think it's all or nothing with Lyle. We seem to have some solid backups in mind and it doesn't seem like any of the other teams Richmond's considering are beating down his door begging for a commitment. In all truthfulness, he's likely our third preference behind Lyle and Mitchell.

Is there a chance of striking out on all three in an effort to hold out for Lyle? Sure, but he's the kind of player you wait on.

Yup I did. Couple things though, 1. We had no decent recruits already committed when he pulled that and 2. Putting the full court press on did result in getting a 5*, not missing out completely.

Isn't Cofer and Cornish supposed to be there when he visits this weekend?
