thought u meant u slathered it on the bread with it.

We weren't talking about slathering anything. We were talking about mayo, which is an essential ingredient in a few select foods.

And FTR, a very thin layer of mayo in place of butter to fry the bread for a grilled cheese is what a local place has been doing here for the last 52 years.

I ate a blt last night. used avacado slices, keeps the bread from being dry

mayo on a grilled cheese, never even heard if that, thats just nasty. my wife just threw up

I never seen anyone put mayo on pimento either,i just use lett, tom, & cucumbers

chicken salad my wife subs in low fat yogurt, tastes better

Mayo should be dripping out the edges of a good grilled cheese. Puts hair on your he..uh, nevermind.

Sly or anyone knowledgable, since Behr is nowhere to be found, any particular oil that works best for the cast iron?

Seasoning, I'd use flax seed oil. I really don't know if it matters. I've used lard before because that's what was available when these were first used. I think with cooking, it's whatever you feel comfortable with and what you're cooking. A good olive oil is good if you don't need to fry anything. If you're frying something, grape seed or peanut oil will give you a higher smoke point meaning you can fry at much higher temperatures.
