You obviously don't understand. It's not about what the dream is. It's about following your dream. You only live once. Education isn't the end all be all. He most likely fails out or does bad in school bc to him, he would be wasting so much of the prime of his life doing something he doesn't love to do.

If more people followed their dreams from a younger age then they could be where they want to be by the time their friends and everyone else is out of college. They just get there in different way.

If its his dream and love, then he doesn't have to make it big and live in a big fancy house to be happy. If he works and makes it to where he can supply a living for himself off of the "rap game" then good for him. I hope he does well.

In the mean time you keep being a dream killer.

im pretty sure MSU has a studio and classes that could teach him about audio and video production therefore elevating his skill and help him master the craft.. kid was just too lazy and too worried about smoking weed

no homo?

headed down to opening night at BBQ Fest. gonna watch Game 5: Grizz vs Thunder under a tent, eating some ribs, down by the river..

Drove from upper East Tennessee through Knoxville to Nashville today and have to express a few observations:
1) I love Jason Swain but he's not exactly Colin Cowherd. Whole lot of awkward silence and country twang on that show.
2) Clay Travis and Erik Ainge got in a cute lil twitter fight today, which, in turn, took over the "Swain Event." It's funny how they blatantly talk sh!t about Travis on TSR.
3) Daniel Gray isn't a huge loss.
4) I was passed by an SUV with Tuscaloosa Police on the side, and I'm pretty sure Rolando McLain (and maybe Nick Saban) was inside.
5) Anybody wanna get weird tonight in Nashville? I have a mediation in the morning where we hope to divide a lot of money, and I'd prefer to be hungover when I do it.

Seems Michigan state made the decision for him. Saw on yahoo where they pulled his offer because of his video. I guess he can say he is following his dreams. Looks like it really was not up to him.

A lot of people say "weed does not hurt anyone". Well, this kid just lost a scholarship and a chance to further his education in part because of it.

No he didn't lose a scholarship for smoking weed. He lost it because he is a dumbass. Weed didn't have anything to do with it. You can easily smoke weed and be in college.

There are also a ton of kids who dream of playing college football but either don't have the grades or aren't quite good enough to go to a school like MSU. Then there is this you g man who has that opportunity and throws it away because he wants to pursue the dream of rapping. I watched about 15 seconds of his video and didn't know whether to laugh or throw up. I am no rap music know-it-all so maybe somebody that is can chime in. It wasn't good at all. Good luck to him. I hope he doesn't regret his decision when his draft class comes up and he is working at some plant or restaraunt.

You might be right. The article on yahoo seemed to make a point to mention the opening of the video and him smoking "something that appears to be illegal". Maybe it had nothing to do with them pulling the scholarship. I tend to think it did.

The video did. Which is why I referred to him as a dumbass. He is not the brightest dude out there. Hence, smoking weed in a video.

2) Travis is an idiot, would be much better off if he never opened his mouth.
4) Did they not have a booster seat in the SUV so Saban could see outside?
5) Is it an Ole Miss football rep and a recruit dividing all the money?

You mean smoke herb, create beats on FTL Studios and rap over them? I know dozens of kids livin that dream daily.

brilliant..

he'll be broke in 10 years

see my second line..

and for the record he's worth a fraction of what the top physicians in the country are

as of 2010 alone he was worth 110 million.

Name me a doctor worth 1 million before he's 25. Go ahead, I'll wait.

For reference, I'm about to go into med school At 24. and I'm closer to the top of the applicants than the bottom. Unless you are dealing with an MIT genius, MENSA member, or savant of some kind (which has its own kind of problems altogether that money can never fix) then most doctor's don't make their first million until their 30's. at least. and that's with a self owned business and a lot of smart planning.

It's hard to keep (or get) a job anymore if you smoke weed and in many college football programs it's hard to stay on the team if you smoke weed. Something for people to think about.

Knoxville talk radio sounds like they are broadcasting out of broom closet. It is as bad as I have heard pretty much anywhere. Everyone in Knoxville thinks that they are a talk radio personality.

I think you're mostly referring to TSR, and I agree. I'm a TSR man, because I think it speaks more to the common man and fan, but they might have the most amateurish sound equipment I've ever encountered on air. Everyday there is a problem. And their personalities are overall not very compelling. Basilio is very compelling and my favorite. Ainge is fun and tolerable. Swain and Treece seem like nice guys, but forget about it. They're not made for radio. Only Basilio is a real radio personality, while Ainge holds up. "Double-A" (Alex Anderson) was right up there with Basilio, but he quit radio after that weird scandal thing (I still have no clue) that happened a year or two back.

I think your problem is that you're comparing our little pothead playboy to Lil Wayne. That's like comparing a street busker to Willie Nelson. Seriously, no one is stupid enough to think this kids skill is half that of Lil Wayne so don't try and use him as an example to further your defeated argument.

Kid made a stupid decision. He could have used his football career and an his all-bills-paid scholarship as leverage in his rapping career, but instead he chooses the lazy way out. It's really plain to see. People are supposed to give this kid a hard time. It's what humans do when another human make a tragically stupid mistake. :peace2:

I really set off a tangent with that Lil' Wayne comment. It was just a joke. I love VolNation!

Old people can have fun too!
"Bingo!"

4-star JUCO DE Davonte Lambert has Tenn in top 3 and is visiting in June

“I don’t have any order, just know they (Florida) are in the top three with Georgia and Tennessee.”

“I think it’s June 8, I have a visit with Georgia,” Lambert explained. “Then, June 15 I have a visit to Florida. June 21, I have a visit to Tennessee. Those are the only three I set up, because I haven’t sat down with coaches and got the other ones planned out. They are unofficial, but the one to Florida is official.”

Humble, honest, and good looking too :hi:

Having lived in many many cities, Knoxville is indeed the worst sports radio town ever.
