Hubbs earlier on 104.5 - From the podcast:

Jenny Wright situation? Ingram asks about her status in the athletic dept and Hubbs smacks him down right of the bat saying she is not an employee of the athletic dept. employee for UT. She deals with all students and not just atheletes. she tried to resign but they would not except it. terminated for failure to cooperate w/ investigation and alligations of mis conduct and code of ethics violations. doesnt appear to have any NCAA issues at all. Volquest havs requested through the freedom of information act for documents so they can see of anything going on. embaressing story for the young lady. No concerns in NCAA and Ath dept.

PG moving forward without Trae? Will Darius Thompson have a better oprortunity to play now? (absolutely stupid question by Howard) No question. as fast as he can be ready to play he will get minutes. he is going to play early. matter of how he handles things. also will see Richardson, McRae and Maymon. Maymon return is important. they run the offense thru the 4 position w/Maymon. filter half court set thru Maymon until they are comfortable with the other PG. important for Richardson and McRae to improve handling the ball this summer

Lunt? How hard will Butch go after him? still to be determined. very much in it w/ Cornwell. Makes more sense to get a HS player. pretty crowded at QB position. be surprised if he persues TN. TN doesnt make as much sense for him. The schools who have been mentioned already had ties w/ him .S. Miss makes sense

Marlin Lane? just finished semester. everything is looking positive. baring something unforseen Marlin should be back in June. very important depth wise to get him back. Hill was a good spring story but we can't anoint him yet. really no one else back there. Tom Smith has not shown a lot. Lee staus is uncertain

Eric Gordon. wait and see process. not cut and dry like Marlins is. closer to August when we will know

Daniel Gray? everyone they signed who can run will have a chance to play. Foreman, Sutton will have a shot. Dan had a lot of personal things going on and never got comfortable. struggled on the field througout spring. passed up by some walk ons

Antonio Barton? trying to get him on campus. been some convo. longer it goes when he doesnt make a decision they have a chance. Maryland, A&M and Syracuse will be a factor

Big 12 and SEC BB games? was TN consulted on being left out? think it was more here is how it is . where was your schedule looking like at the point of when the game swill be played.

Non conference schedule next yr for BB? have a few openings left to get scheduled. pretty close to having it done. TSU and a couple of in state schools will be added.

Bob Welton addition to Butch's staff? worked with him before. important because of some early defections. brought a guy from Cincy that didnt last long due to the pace of the SEC. matter of getting someone he is comfortable with.

Jone sis 3rd in most twitter followers? he is big on visual media and social media. clear that Social media has paid off for them. very visual with everything. very good in the video world and they are maxing it out. sevral recruits have talked about watching the videos

Doug Matthews said he had lunch w/ a former player and he said that Butch is almost doingt to well..Butch has done so good on the front end that he is creating unrealistic expectations? ( another doozy question from Howard) regardless of what he s done there are always those who have unrealistic expectations. everyone must be patient.about a week into spring ball Butch starting talking about Brick by Brick which is his montra now.. talks about how slim the margin of error is. making it obvious that there will be some bumps in the road. he has created a frenzy in the program and he has to keep it up even through the tuff times. base on what I have seen a 6 or 7 win season would be a good season.

Serrano and the BaseVols? developing players. rain out in Ga could cost them SEC tourny. just dont have enough arms. lost some to draft that hurt them on Fridays and Sundays. Serrano is dissapointed about consistancy w/ effort. thought they turned the corner after KY

Serrano's son? getting drafted way early will be a big decision. he has really developed. scouts got his attention.

That;s all folks! Go Vols

From elivol on VQ.

Thought that was an interesting question on unrealistic expectations. That could be the case. I'm with Hubbs, I think this is a 6 win team. But I also think the future is very, very bright. If CBJ continues recruiting at this pace, we'll be rocking and rolling by his third year, no question about it.

Daniel Gray
For the next 3 years I will be taking my talents to the university of Utah state. God is good and I'm very thankful for him. Never thought I would be playing college ball with my Bestfriend JoJo Natson. Lauderdale better believe ima put on for my city. #NFL2016 draft here I come

Disagree. Gray has all-star talent. Tye Hill clone, IMO.

As MH said, getting passed by walk-ons says a lot.

It could be a result of him never being comfortable, thus not putting the necessary work in to get better, but isn't that a bigger problem?

If he had Tye Hill type talent he wouldn't have been passed up by walk-on's whether he was comfortable or not...

My BB reference went right over your head.

I expected better out of you, KV.

Gray didn't, doesn't, and never will have Tye Hill talent. I never was big on that pick-up from the get go.

I'm not an expert at evaluating talent, but I certainly wouldn't ever compare a HS player to a former All-American CB who was a 1st-Round NFL draft selection.

It was a joke. I was just alluding to another VN poster's evaluation of Gray. I thought Kingston Vol would catch the reference. He didn't. Moving on.

I agree with you on all accounts. It was a desperate, late take at the time. Not sure why anyone is surprised at the outcome.

Da'Rick has a great shot to make Buffalo's final roster and be successful in NFL, but he will have to stay on the "straight and narrow" to do so.

Buffalo has “Zero Tolerance” rule in place for UDFA Da’Rick Rogers

After going undrafted you would think Da’Rick Rogers has already learned his lesson about his previous problems at the University of Tennessee. Well after having a solid character year at Tennessee Tech, Rogers went undrafted. Buffalo signed Da’Rick Rogers to an undrafted deal and today new Head Coach Doug Marrone made sure that Da’Rick knew their policy with him going forward.

“Either you’ve learned your lesson and you’ve grown up and you’re going to go forward and mature, or you haven’t learned your lesson and you’re going to be out on the street,” Marrone said. “It’s that simple. It’s all on you, and you have to make the right decisions.”

The slightest slip-up and Rogers is going to get his walking papers. If he keeps his head on straight, Rogers has a legitimate shot to make plays on the 53 man roster.

On Paulk, Thomas and Wolf getting bumps to 4stars on Rivals...

I haven't sat in on any conference call or meetings regarding rankings, but based on conversations, I think it's a real possibility that all three go to 4 stars, but I don't know anything for sure.

Donnie Ferguson, Riley’s father, told InsideTennessee that Vol head coach Butch Jones was very pleased to learn that his young quarterback will be able to enroll in June, with many of the Vols’ other incoming freshman signees.

“Coach Jones really wanted him to get there and get started early, go through orientation and get into class,” Donnie Ferguson said. “Riley still could’ve worked out with the team starting June 12 but he wouldn’t be in class until July. The coaches really wanted to get him in that routine of working out and going to class.”

“He’ll be making about four trips to Tennessee in the next week or so,” Donnie Ferguson said. “If he didn’t do that he wouldn’t be able to start summer-school classes until July. Tennessee’s coaches want him taking classes while he’s there, not just doing workouts.”

You're absolutely right. We need more kids in this country with the vision to forgo a free education at an institution of higher learning, with the hope of making it in the rap game, dropping rhymes about b's, drugs, and gang bangin...

You obviously don't understand. It's not about what the dream is. It's about following your dream. You only live once. Education isn't the end all be all. He most likely fails out or does bad in school bc to him, he would be wasting so much of the prime of his life doing something he doesn't love to do.

If more people followed their dreams from a younger age then they could be where they want to be by the time their friends and everyone else is out of college. They just get there in different way.

If its his dream and love, then he doesn't have to make it big and live in a big fancy house to be happy. If he works and makes it to where he can supply a living for himself off of the "rap game" then good for him. I hope he does well.

In the mean time you keep being a dream killer.
