Part of a recipe I just now saw...

Place the pork tenderloin in a slow cooker; pour the root beer over the meat.

I quit reading.

I've seen it. You should have finished reading it. Went like this.....

...turn on high heat and cook for 3 days. Let cool and add 3 cans of Alpo and 4 cups of dry Purina. Mix well and take to nearest animal shelter and make several dogs day.

Not sure if it might make the dogs ill. Do you do pulled port? If so, how do you cook the meat?

Behr,

Have you ever tried the Bhut Jolokia pepper?

I tried a salsa type dish someone made once that had some in it, but there is such a thing as "too Hot"

I think they'd be okay with it.

Yes, in a smoker.

OK, that's the only way I've done it. Leaving to buy smoker. Left mine in Montana with the kids.

Obviously you can do a nice one in the oven.

But, an oven just uses so much electricity not to mention heats up the house, and in your situation that would suck. And smoking it is just so much more fun and way better anyway.

I sampled a sauce with it as a main ingredient once. Messed me up for 2 weeks.

Yea, I have never experimented with using them. From what I learned about them, they can be used in small amounts to make hot sauce, but cooking with them is just dumb.

Besides that salsa I tried, I had a taste of a hot sauce that had them in the ingredient description and it was "stupid" hot and really didn't taste good.

Any food item that is used as a weapon in grenades, can stay out of my kitchen.

Yeah, I'll probably do one tomorrow or Thursday. Haven't done one since last summer. Do you use butt or shoulder?
