Flacco is about 6'6 with a cannon. Bridgewater is injured everytime I've watched him and has mediocre measurables. He's good, not great.

Fair enough. I see your point. I still believe Teddy will be a top 20 barring an injury or absolutely terrible season

Name a bettter pro prospect coming out next yr? He is better than most if not all in this draft class, Timothy.

Mccarron and Murray..off the top of my head. Im sure there will be many, many more.

edit: I need to add I like Teddy, he's a winner and thats not a coachable characteristic.

JMO, this is how I personally want the starting WR lineup to be. I want Croom and Dallas on the outside. They both are our best run blockers on the outside IMO. Croom is big and physical. Dallas has some experience and he's athletic. Blanc is in this group also. Cody is good with his hands and seems to get the calls down.

In the slot, I want 3 guys to be interchangeable.... I want Pig, DY, and Carter. I just can't see Carter being successful on the outside if they blanket him with a Safety over the top. I think Carter is a very good route runner and he would be productive in the slot.

The last 3 guys... Harris, Bowles, and North, definitely need to be ready to step in. North already looks physically ready.. 6'3 ish and 205 lbs. I noticed in some of the WR drills, Bowles is catching the ball with his body. His hands need to attack the ball and spear it out of the air.

I think the TEs will have to emerge and be more than just "serviceable". Hubbs has already said that Downs is making great progress and looks to have the spot on lockdown, but Justin King is another viable option.

Too early to be worrying about WRs though. It will be a lot different than last year for sure. Our QB won't be chucking it 50 times in a ball game. Our O-Line will give the QBs plenty of time to make a good throw. We have playmakers at the WR position, no doubt. Just got to give CZA time to groom them.

LMAO, you just lost all credibility mentioning Mccarron and pro prospect in the same sentence

I don't see Meredith being here after next year IMO. Kid is just haunted by that hammy. Its sad too. Wish he had an opportunity to be healthy and show what he can do.

The kid has two back to back rings as QB and you don't think he will get drafted. Need I remind you that McElroy (sp) got drafted.

I agree.
Mccarron is a smart QB. He makes very few mistakes. I would take him over Bray in a heartbeat.

Poorly worded post in retrospect, he'll be an ~4throud draft pick. Guess I was getting more at the fact that he in no way belongs in the same sentence as guys like T bridge and Murray

I honestly don't understand the WR freak out. I feel like the same guys freaking out are the same ones who say not to put too much stock into spring heroes. So why are we freaking out?

A few WRs have picked up the new system quicker and are playing more consistently after a handful of spring practices. Big fn deal.

I guess it's fun for discussion but I'm betting by the end of spring practice we're hearing a different starting lineup. And after fall camp it will be different again.

But at the end of day it's a really good thing if Blanc, Carter and DY know the system and can contribute. We're going to need them even if Croom, Bowles, Dallas, Harris and North beat them out for a starting job. Butch rotates a lot of WRs and injuries happen, we're going to need them all to know this system. JMO

This. People act like game 1 is tomorrow. Brand new system, let the kids get used to it for more than a few weeks before we freak out.

Trust me, I gagged. Truth is he's solid, makes few mistakes, and has a chance to have 3 NC's. He'll get drafted before Teddy.

Yea doesnt CMR lead the SEC and probably country every year in arrests and suspensions? How many suspensions does he average a yr and how many since he has been at UGA. Seems like every year they open the season with X amount of players missing this game, that game but considering the ease of their OOC schedule every year it doesnt matter because they make it back for Conference games. That Disciplinarian...
What kind of suspension would you like to see for a weed test? Because the guys that screw up bad enough have been kicked out.

Seriously 1 of my favorite Vols.

Setenta y Cuatro ‏@Antonio_Tiny74
On Spring Break but all I can think about is ball. Just watched a little film earlier.

UGA seems to have the stigma for some reason. Perception is sometimes worse than reality.

Just stop. Teddy is a good qb and has done well at Louisville. But, he is no where near the qb bray is. My brother is a Florida fan and even he will admit that. You didn't come prepared and you got beat. That's how the game works. Stop making excuses and succumb to reality.

Not coming prepared or wanting to be there could be part of it but acting like Teddy isn't a top qb and Strong isn't an great coach is crazy...acting like Bray is a world beater...kid as a losing record as a starter and in the sec. :rtfm:

Our O was never going to beat anyone but Ky and UT but the way L'ville O moved the ball showed they very good unit and Teddy is an elite QB. Compare what Teddy did vs UF and what Tyler did..not even close and you had the better WR unit. Jus think of how bad L'ville would have beat.

As for the 30+ day point..look back at this time at DC and look at UF record during bowl games(5-2) overall. So yeah if he has time to gameplan he can stop anyone. This is the game guys that stop the highest scoring O in the NCAA in Okie and manhandle tOSU.

SO funny that a fan of a team that lost to Vandy even talks about what happen with a 11-2 team.

The guy who started it is a UF fan and known UT hater. I wouldn't try overthinking this one.

Exactly. Somebody start the Richt version... given UGAs recent struggles with their players and the police blotter, I'm thinking it'll stick. Might even show up on Wikipedia

No one said bray was a world beater and that exactly the point. Bridgewater had a nice game and fl played like garbage. Nothing more. Bridgewater is nothing more than a good qb. Its doesnt take a world beater to beat the almighty gators. Esp when you play like trash like you did that day. As for us, you bragging about beating a 5-7 team?

Furthermore this is Tennessee message board, in case you forgot. You don't like what we talk about go to a gator board instead of frequenting a ut message board

or maybe L'ville is a legit squad but bc they play in the Big East the reason they won was UF didn't show. By that same logic Butch Jones only is a winner bc he coached in the MAC and Big East. Pick which side of the fence you want to be on.

That is what we're gonna find out this year. Thats the side of the fence Im on. They're a good team no doubt. Had fl played with a pulse they wouldve and shouldve won that game. They didnt do anything spectacular they just played consistent all year. They lost to Syracuse and uconn...

I don't discount a team bc of had bad their conference may be. Cuse beat an SEC team no matter how bad that SEC is...they still beat an SEC team. Since the SEC is the measuring stick of college football that would count as a solid win.

All I'm saying is Strong is a legit coach and Teddy would be a starter in any league. And L'ville kicked our ass no matter if we got off the bus or not.
