A few different reasons why Lville won: Teddy is better QB than Tyler Bray and any on UF or UT roster. Charlie Strong is a Top 5-7 defensive coach...top 3 when he has over 30+ days to gameplan. L'ville also has a roster full of Fl kids and a few of those WR will play on Sundays.
Lol. Convenient argument. How do you find statistics for the 30 day argument? Its more honest to say UF was disinterested in the bowl. smh

I only saw a little of the game, but honestly, I think the biggest reason Florida lost is because they did not show up.

Just stop. Teddy is a good qb and has done well at Louisville. But, he is no where near the qb bray is. My brother is a Florida fan and even he will admit that. You didn't come prepared and you got beat. That's how the game works. Stop making excuses and succumb to reality.

Teddy will be a first round pick. Likely a pretty high one too.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but this discussion about WRs has been about running routes, ability to get separation from DBs, & ability to catch the ball. Those are important, but so is blocking for the running plays. Maybe Blanc, Carter, & Young are doing a better job of that right now?

He may very well be. But, it will be because he's played against some of the weakest competition out there. How'd the uconn and syracuse games go for him? He's good, not great. Same knock on bray, but bray is the better qb hands down.

I say that because I'm freaking out. We'll need him to contribute.

Don't you guys think its a combination of being young and having to learn new routes for some and High School kids trying to catch up with the speed and demands of College football? I am holding out hope that since Croom, Pig, and Smith (I'm sure I am missing others) having been here for a year will step up this year for us.

I honestly don't understand the WR freak out. I feel like the same guys freaking out are the same ones who say not to put too much stock into spring heroes. So why are we freaking out?

A few WRs have picked up the new system quicker and are playing more consistently after a handful of spring practices. Big fn deal.

I guess it's fun for discussion but I'm betting by the end of spring practice we're hearing a different starting lineup. And after fall camp it will be different again.

But at the end of day it's a really good thing if Blanc, Carter and DY know the system and can contribute. We're going to need them even if Croom, Bowles, Dallas, Harris and North beat them out for a starting job. Butch rotates a lot of WRs and injuries happen, we're going to need them all to know this system. JMO

I'm hoping they all can do a little.

A little here and a little there and we'll be alright, I think.

Lol, take off the orange glasses. Bray and Bridgewater are both good QBs but Bridgewater is better at this point and will be reflected in the NFL draft.

Okay, the QBs throwing the ball and the WRs catching the ball the best currently have been working together the most over the past year. It may simply be a matter of familiarity and timing already there.

A 5 yard out or slant is still the same regardless of coaching scheme. Repetition with the same QB-WR combo is key. Deep pass routes are the same...timing and familiarity.

Fine by me if all the other teams on our schedule take us lightly. I actually hope the 1st 4 teams are overconfident at kickoff, yes, even the 1st 2 games :)

This.

I don't know what people were expecting. Outside of Dallas, Pig, and Carter, none of these guys have played at all. And the 3 guys I just named have only played in a limited role.

Add to the fact that it's a brand new scheme with brand new coaches and different demands, there are going to be some growing pains to say the least. Our fans just need to chill out and let the coaches coach these guys up and allow them to develop.

What will be reflected is his lack of competition in the big east. Hes been good at Louisville and is a good qb like I said, but hes proved nothing based on his competition level. Bray destroys defenses like those he played against.

Nobody needs to sleep on Carter. The kid is good. I hope Harris, and North step up tho.

North is my number one and Jenkins is also a favorite, but they are not enrolled yet. Harris is an EE practicing now, and he has the real potential to develop into one of the best WRs in the country. Dallas is fast, strong, and athletic; he looked good and played well last year, so he could start if he learns the new schemes. Carter and Blanc did not disappoint last year, and we are seeing good reports on them. Pig should get PT; Young is new at the position but getting love from coaches; Croom is an inexperienced RF, and Bowles is under the radar...but these are players who could contribute. I have expectations for Croom and hope he adapts to the new schemes with consistent execution. I doubt we'll see Smith this year, but he should be a good one down the road.

Joe Flacco had some solid competition against Dartmouth which earned him that first round pick. Too bad Teddy doesn't play Wisconsin Whitewater every year or he would be top 5 easily.

Flacco is about 6'6 with a cannon. Bridgewater is injured everytime I've watched him and has mediocre measurables. He's good, not great.

The question isn't whether hes a good qb or not its the comparison of him to bray. Imo there isn't one better numbers for bray against better competition with a lot less of a defense to back him up. Bray is the better qb. Bridgewater is good. He doesnt have near the arm that bray has.

Name a bettter pro prospect coming out next yr? He is better than most if not all in this draft class, Timothy.
