The Runner's thread

I would recommend going to a running store. Example Fleet Feet. Have them messure your foot and find a pair of running shoes that are comfterable. Everyone has their preferance to what kind of shoes feel the best. I have ran in Adidas, Nike, and I have a pair of Brooks now. They all worked well for my type of foot. Reebok and New Balance generally don't work for me but there are people who love them.

Good luck.

P.S.- There are Fleet Feet locations in FLA but I don't think they are close to Destin. Stuart, Orlando and Sarasota are the store locations.

I'm running the 5k tomorrow as well. Plan to eat/ drink my entry fee back in the free beer and pizza for participants!

Ran 6.2 today, 53.4 miles for March

No doubt man. I'm probably going to feel terrible tomorrow night but it'll be worth it.

4 mile hike this morning with the wife. 1800 feet of elevation change. Was a good hike. Plan on running this trail sometime soon.

3.2 miles Wednesday, 2 miles Friday, 26.2 today. Got sick just past the halfway point and had to make "pit stops" three times between Mile 13.1 and Mile 18.1. Destroyed my time, but I can still claim I set a PR for a full marathon today!

Total for 100 mile March: 67.4

First, I would like to tell you that is a GREAT accomplishment to complete a full marathon. You don't seem like you are proud of your time, but it doesn't matter you freaking finished. You were sick and it didn't stop you. That deserves mad props right there.

Do you realize how many people never complete a full marathon?

You have done something that less than .6% of the population has done. Congrats

3.1 today, 56.6 miles for March.

Took 1st place in my age division, 8th overall at the Barley's St. Patty's Day 5K.

I have never won my age division for any race. I look forward to the day this happens...

Congrats

Thanks everybody. I'm ecstatic that I finished, I just know I not only could have completed accomplished my goal, but I realize now how easily I can push through a 4 hour marathon. I'm not running another anytime soon, but I definitely know I will do more in the future. Sub 4 is now the next step Who knows, I might even keep it up and make Boston in a few years. Just can't fathom running a 3:05 though.

Shirt I ran in and the medal. Thinking about becoming one of those people and getting a 26.2 sticker for my car...
