Jay Graham has left Tennessee to go to FSU

What determines if a coach is sh*tty or not?

Dooley brought in a MUCH better staff on paper than Hoke, yet Hoke is very successful and has turned that whole program around.

Now more than ever I believe the HC is by far the biggest predictor of success. An average staff wins with a top notch HC. An average HC loses with a top Notch staff IMO.

Exactly. Ron Zook had Larry Fedora as OC and Charlie Strong as DC. I honestly can't think of a better OC/DC combo, yet UF took steps backward and Zook was fired after 3 years.

Coaches are always better off bringing in guys that helped them become successful.

Heck of an example for those crying about not having the best staff in America

That's a pretty damn strong post and hard to argue with. JMO

I always said UT needed to hire UT people who had loyalty to the program and University. Seems I have been wrong all along I will never again say anything about hiring UT alum with what happened with Graham and Tee it just proves it really doesn't matter where you go to school, money talks and Bull***t walks.

Tee did what was best for his family. Jay was under appreciated and didn't mesh well with the staff. I wish them nothing but the best; they gave their all for UT when they were here.

Well that's all good but when we play FSU if at all in the near future or USC, and if we are competing against either one for a recruit I will wish them nothing but defeat.

Read the article about Graham taking the FSU job, article stated that they tried to reach Graham for a statement and all calls went straight to voice mail. Way to stand tall Jay and talk to all the fans and your alma mater. Quote from aritcle "Graham was a popular figure with Vols’ fans, receiving three standing ovations during a post-National Signing Day tour of the state earlier this month." Don't you think fans deserve a response?

Hubbs has said multiple times that it wasn't about money or a higher "title".

He said graham didn't feel comfortable with this staff as the lone holdover guy from the last staff..which is stupid.

This just doesn't sit well with me for some reason..makes no sense.

Anybody thought that Jay just didn't want to work that hard at recruiting. Butch Jones does not let them stop moving. He is similar to Nicky Satan, because of how relentless they recruit. Coaches leave Satan because he is so demanding, insisting they put in unreal hours.

I mean, when he coached under Dooley the reports are Fooley didn't work very hard. He wouldn't go visit any recruit on Fridays because that was his time. Recruits have said they barely heard from the COACHING STAFF (which included Jay Graham).

Face it, FSU is less work. Recruit Florida and that's it.

Not true at all about FSU's recruiting under Jimbo. They have recruited to areas that their staff is strongest which have included hitting DC and Bama pretty hard. With Graham on staff they will undoubtedly start making a push into the carolina's and tennessee.

Ok, so they recruit 3 states and TN recruits America. Can we agree its easier to recruit when your backyard is an athlete orchard.

Florida State recruits America as well, I just listed the handful of states they hit hard. Kind of like how we recruit America, but only hit a handful of states hard. Being at FSU is really not going to make things much easier for Graham, as he still is going to be assigned the same region that he was assigned at Tennessee. While recruiting Florida will get easier, recruiting NC will become more dificult.

Those two teams also have very fertile instate recruiting grounds with arguably the most loyalty to their schools from the instate kids. You might not think it matters. But I'm black and not racist, and I think it very much matters. On the flip side I don't think an all black staff would be good. That's just my opinion.

By the way, it was also noted that its been used against us in recruiting. Did you forget to mention that? Or did it not fit your argument?

Lol. Like its 100% fact. Has it been confirmed by a recruit. Please show me the link. Fourth hand info isn't good enough. It's sad that people assume color even matters.

I also don't care if Alabama and Ohio are "fertile" recruiting grounds. You're simply making assumptions that have no support when giving it a reason to justify your outrage.

You're black and not racist? Lol ok. Don't see how that is relevant. I'm not sure if I should take it as you calling me racist or not. Perhaps I'll just ignore such a sophomoric statement.

Exactly what Ainge just said. If Jay didn't want to work hard, the best thing he could do for us is leave.
