Jay Graham has left Tennessee to go to FSU

Fair point. Having a bad QB after Cam might have been the cause, but it's fair to wonder. I think his coaching is adequate considering his recruiting ability is elite, and we have one proven recruiter on our whole staff.

By far one of the best recruiters in CFB. Some may question his tactics but he gets players. Yes UA has some great recruiters on staff as does many other schools but he seems to relate to players better than any recruiter except maybe Lupoi at Washington.

I think now with recruiting what it is and so many kids getting pulled everywhere and never knowing who to trust a coach who can gain their trust is a win in recruiting for any school.

I should have clarified that to mean while at AU. His ability there was to recruit and prior to that I really never followed his career. I do remember him at OSU and believe he coached Dez there. But again I was talking about AU his recent stint which he was great on the recruiting trail and seemed to relate to recruits but he did not seem to have the impact on the field there.

True...however, I'm one to think Malzaun's offense doesn't really allow WRs to flat out shine. I could be completely offbase here. But other than Marcus Monk (I think that's his name) having a pretty good year in Arkansas, I don't remember any WRs going off in his system.

On the flip side, it seemed like everyone Trooper coached here did good. JMO

Anyone want to put odds on Trooper being hired?

Unless CBJ has heard some kind of verdict from the NCAA on TT's issues, I can't see him hiring the guy. People say to just hire him and if NCAA stuff comes down on him, worry about it then. What happens when the NCAA drops the hammer on Trooper 2-3 weeks before signing day 2014? We would be set up for a complete disaster of a finish. If the NCAA has not cleared TT of any wrong doing, I would set it at around a 15% chance he is hired here.

Well there goes our shot at great RB's in the near future. I would have never figured Jay would have left us. This loss hurts pretty bad. Graham was a top recruiter.

I honestly thought we were on the way up. It seems not. Screw Graham.

He's brought so many great backs to UT the past two years. Uh, no.

I doubt they're very good. I haven't seen his name mentioned yet. Only in a short time period, though.

He is the only name I've seen actually mentioned. Hubbs said some people are endorsing him to Jones which is the only newsworthy post all day regarding a runningbacks coach. I think its higher than most people think. I still say under 40%, but very possible.

Most recruits will watch what happens on the old gridiron before they make a decision for the Vols. Who we hire is important but the best recruiter will be CWG. Coach Win Games.

Coaching at your alma mater must be way overrated.

Why cant we get Rodney Garner back? Pay him whatever it takes- he can talk guys into going whereever he wants. When he recruited Georgia, UT got the cream of the crop from the Atlanta area. To me, this looks like Butch blew the first big decision of his tenure. Does not look good to lose the only coach with ties to UT. WTF happened?

Hubbs said that Luper was cleared and hired by TCU. He said Trooper's camp said there are no dark clouds or investigations pending against him. Hubbs said he was told that Trooper is just being selective in his next move. He's getting paid by the barn for two years regardless of where he goes.

If that's the case then we need to make it happen IMO. We would recruit lights out and have good production from our RBs.
