Sampson made over half a thousand of those phone calls, also Gordon claimed he let illegal drug use go on because winning was more important. Bruce was a good man, definitely made mistakes, but he's being crucified. I also find a difference between having violations and flat out cheating. Bottom line, Bruce wins everywhere he goes, and I'll make that statement more about Bruce and Cuonzo than Bruce and Sampson. Bruce is a way better coach, it shows everywhere he goes. He wins, always, bottom line, and he wins with his players on the court, anything he did, whether it be stupid silly things like a junior at a barbecue instead of a senior, it didn't change how they performed on the court.
Also as someone said above, Bruce wasn't fired for these "secondary violations", it was the idiotic quick lie to the NCAA. Regardless if you believe Bruce regretted it, the point is that he was fired for him just being stupid. I don't believe that makes him a bad person, the way Sampson let drug use go on etc. It's like people want to try and forget all the good things Bruce did around here. He's a good man, and a damn good winner.
