'13 AL RB Johnathan Ford (no longer a Vandy commit)

If this is true he is not committed like has been posted and certainly great news.

Where does elder fit into the picture??

Not sure about Elder. But I am 99% certain Ford is not committed anywhere and still pretty open. Auburn really wants Folston and they've made him th priority.

From everything I've read, Elder is more interested in playing basketball. It's either Ford, Turner, or bust at this point.

I am asking on the auburn side of things. I know he isn't going to be a vol. I am hoping he commits to auburn leaving ford no spot.

Ford please bring your skills to UT.
A strong passing attack opens up the running game and vice versa.
With you and our new receiver corps our offense can be explosive.
Hope to see you running through the "T" next year!!!!

You forgot to include that he is better than Young

That argument could be made comparing the two coming out of high school. Right now with Devrin having two years in a college program its not a good comparison. My point is I think we need an every down back more than scatback.

running backs coach Jay Graham along with other offensive staff members and head coach Butch Jones are slated to be in Alabama today to make their final pitch to running back Johnathan Ford and his family. The battle for Ford's signature is intense with Tennessee and Auburn the top two schools.
The only remaining question and it's a big one is what is Ford going to do this weekend. Florida State and Georgia have offered and would like to get him on campus for an official visit. Tennessee would like to get Ford and his family to return for an unofficial visit this weekend. Auburn is trying to do the same. Look for lots of rumors regarding Ford over the next 5 days or so. And it will start with where Ford is going to be this weekend.

Yea, I'm not ready to count us out of this one yet by any means. The in home will be huge obviously. Hopefully we bring "Uncle Mo" with us tonight and can convince him to swing by this weekend for an UOV. I like where we are and will be interested to hear about how the visit shakes out later.

Since AU is pushing for Folston, I wonder if this was Ford's backup plan comment that he made.

IMO we offer Elder a bball scholly and then get Ford and it's the best of both worlds.

Doesn't work that way. If Elder were to play football at UT, he would count as a scholarship athlete for football even if basketball was his "primary" sport.

Hopefully Ford realizes that he is Auburn's second or third choice at RB behind Folston & Elder.

Can't do that. If he plays football, he goes on fball scholarship. You can thank Bear Bryant for that rule. Corn Elder won't use a basketball scholarship if he plays football also.

Yeah forgot about that. Good ole Bear, and I was told I was delusional in the Kamara thread by a Bama fan for claiming the majority of the NCAA rulebook was written due to Bear being the biggest cheater in CFB history.

USA TODAY

No wonder Vandy players are on twitter acting like losers. They're simply taking on the personality of their loser coach.

From the article:

"Alabama is coming off its second consecutive BCS title and third in four years. Franklin, 40, just led the Commodores to their first nine-win season since 1915 in his second year at Vanderbilt."

"Alabama and Vanderbilt do not play in 2013. The Crimson Tide beat Vanderbilt 34-0 in 2011 in the lone meeting between Saban and Franklin as head coaches. "

LOL Ouch!

Vanderbilt football coach James Franklin said he phoned Alabama's Nick Saban on Wednesday to apologize for referring to the four-time national championship coach as "Nicky Satan."

That's the part I was talking about. But I do find it funny he makes a comment like that knowing he doesn't play them next year.
