'13 AL RB Johnathan Ford (no longer a Vandy commit)

Vanderbilt football coach James Franklin said he phoned Alabama's Nick Saban on Wednesday to apologize for referring to the four-time national championship coach as "Nicky Satan."

That's the part I was talking about. But I do find it funny he makes a comment like that knowing he doesn't play them next year.

Oh, I gotcha. I agree with your point and wasn't taking anything away from it. :)

I just find it all the more funny that the article threw those jabs in. Franklin needs to do a little more than one decent season against a fluff schedule, and getting thumped by the object of his snarky comment, before throwing those little barbs out there.

Makes me all the more thankful that Kiffin filed for an annulment so quickly here. lol

Franklin is a douche. He apologized and then tried to rationalize it by saying it was a joke but with social media and "people with tape recorders" it didn't come off that way. What a MORON

Yeah the easiest way to avoid these misunderstandings is don't say it to begin with. Big cat Franklin will figure it out one of these days.

I recall he got his panties in a wad over Dooley and the VOLS making fun of Vandy the year before last. Double standard apparently.

Gary Haskew (Chatt. radio host) said that a source by the name of Batman, says to expect Ford to commit to the Vols. Who is Batman on UT boards?

Haskew is a self admitted troll. He knows less than nothing about UT sports. Everything that he calls is opposite, so that makes me certain we will not get Ford.

Aren't you Mr. Sunshine. Gary is a longtime UT fan, so your descripition of him is way out of line. Does he give into sensationalism in order to draw in listeners? Absolutely, but it does not make him a non-UT fan or wrong on this matter.

Who said anything about his fanhood? I don't care if he is the biggest fan in the world. He is always wrong. Besides that, He is an Internet troll. He has admitted it on his incredibly lame show multiple times.

Doesn't mean much, but Ghost of Neyland backed off of his "Auburn lock" comments regarding Ford the other night. He said Auburn still leads, but that Tennessee is definitely not out. I'll vouch for him being reliable in the past.

The timing of CBJ's in home with Ford is perfect imo. It's long enough after his AU visit to where his feelings have hopefully calmed & right when he's trying to decide where to visit tomorrow if anywhere.

I think we land Ford. Just a feeling this staff is going to close the deal tonight in home.

i hope your are right. What a great addition he would make!
I have faith in Butch and the boys...they are turning heads!
We are definitely headed in the right direction!

How awesome would a commit tonight be going into Levenberry's visit tomorrow? The North commitment could be the first in a chain reaction that is about to occur right into NSD.

With Ford and one more good OL (Kondolo or Morris), I think this UT offensive class would be an elite one. Good QB with Ferguson, very good RB in Ford, very good WRs in North, Harris, Jenkins, and Smith, solid TEs in Branisel and Quinn, and good OLs in Sanders, Wiesman, Kendrick. and Kondolo or Morris. That class, combined with last year's class, makes me feel good about the offensive side of the ball but we really need Ford. The defensive side may come together in the next week, I hope.

Isn't Levenberry visiting today? I thought I read it was Thursday.

I don't know, Hubbs said they would be in town tonight, but I'm wondering if the clock starts ticking tomorrow with their in home with Ford tonight.

Here was Hubbs comment on the weekend visitors.

Linebacker E.J. Levenberry and his family are due to be in Knoxville on Thursday for his official visit. Levenberry got a final visit from Florida State earlier this week as the Seminoles try and hold onto the four-star linebacker.

In addition to Levenberry's visit, it looks as if defensive end Malik Brown will be a weekend visitor. Receiver Tyler Boyd is scheduled to be a visitor although as we learned last week that's subject to change. And we will not be surprised if there's not another visitor added to the list before it's all said and done. The Vols have seven official visits left that they can give.
