'13 GA DE Carl Lawson (Auburn commit)

He's badass but he hates the media attention. He's a good kid who is very business like in his approach. The quotes out there about UT are the most eye opening to me. A kid who rarely speaks is raving about his OV. I like our chances but the Barn scares me. 55% us, 45% he sticks IMO.

I agree that AU looming could be a concern but don't forget that Lawson was looking at UT in July when AU was on top of the recruiting world and going into a season where they were selling recruits AU was on the move and the staff had no concerns of where it would be in the future. And that was with the old staff not the new staff that has brought life back to UT.

My opinion is Lawson will end up a Vol.

what are you hearing on your side of things about Lawson? other than what's reported by 24/7/rivals...

Auburn is very concerned about UT. Obviously, Carl and family really enjoyed the visit to UT and were tremendously impressed with the facilities.

The remaining two weeks are crucial to AU's chances and it will determine if Garner is successful in repairing his relationship with Lawson. As Carl Sr. said, it is part of the evaluation process. More narrowly, it will determine whether he remains with AU or signs with UT, who IMO is the only other contender.

The Lawson's are one of the finest, upstanding families I have seen in recruiting over the years. Again, as Carl Sr. said, Carl will decide before NSD so no team is left hanging on Feb. 6. This family does not play under-handed games and no matter what happens, they deserve all due respect.

The last sentence is bad news for Auburn

tennessee did as much as they could with carl lawson on his official visit last weekend leaving a very meaningful and lasting impression on lawson. Multiple sources have told us the visit went very well for lawson and really helped the vols moving forward. While it doesn't often get a lot of attention, there are different aspects of any recruiting visit that oftentimes can be a potential deciding factor. With lawson, it was his lengthy interaction with noted vols video and technology coordinator joe harrington. A ut asset who has repeatedly spurned nfl entreaties, harrington developed a special presentation for lawson, a studious player who can't watch enough film. The two hit it off well, and lawson's time with harrington and checking out the vols' video system was a lasting impression.

They certainly have my respect, and I will be pulling for him no matter where he goes (unless we are playing against him). His recruitment has been one of the most refreshing ones to follow since I started following recruiting a few years ago...an elite talent that doesn't have an elite ego.

Lawson and his family sound like the type of people we want at ut. An elite player with this kind of character is a true rarity. This is what leaders are made of both on and off the field. This is what you want to mold your team around. Let him be the example and benchmark for the team.
I know UT has been down, but I think everyone feels the momentum and excitement returning.
Mr Lawson would be a huge spark I feel other recruits would see him join in and want to be a part of something special.
I pray he becomes a VOL!

I'm not one for moral victories so don't take this the wrong way. But even if we don't land some of these big fish, the ability to get in so quickly with them bodes well for CBJ and staff in the future. With time to build relationships this staff is gonna kill it. JMO.

100% agree.

Unless they righteously stink it up on the field this coming season. But, I think they will surprise us even on the field as well.

Why would you quote the war room directly? Don't you find that sleezy?

At least paraphrase.

I'm going to quote it and give them credit. Sleezy? Nope. In my opinion snippets drive people to go subscribe. We honestly boost Hubbs website and his business. Feel free to ignore me if you like. I'm not going to hold it against you. :hi:
