'13 GA DE Carl Lawson (Auburn commit)

I'm sure the coaches had a lot to do with it. But he had choices as well and made some bad ones. He put up great stats against crap teams. He played well for 1 half against most teams.

Did you not see who was coaching him up? TB came to play ball at UT in our darkest hour. Our offense put up crazy numbers. TB and the offense were not the problem. Did you see our defense win a game?

And how many did the offense win that mattered . They had a chance in a few of them Uga comes to mind how about Mizz or Miss st

Don't give me the play calling crap. He's on the field in command and is the qb. He could check off or hit a hot route instead of winging it 40

Any discussions concerning Tyler, this is what I also point to. CJC did not force Tyler to keep chucking the 40yard fade routes. On any given play Tyler had 3-5 options. HE chose to very rarely look to the back out of the backfield or to the TE. The one game he did make a obvious effort to throw to Rivera, MR had a career game. I may be alone in this but I have little doubt that if Worley had been starting the numbers would have been very similar if not even better. Bray always wanted the home run. This team struggled at times because of it.

This is the last thing I will say about Bray and then C.Lawson gets his thread back.

UGA fell on him but he was playing against a very good defense that knew late in the game that he was going to throw and our offense is fairly predictable.

I'm pretty sure on 4th down in OT against mizzou Zach Rogers had the pass in his hands for the first down and then dropped it.

And Devrin's fumble really costs us that game, also Moore's dropped pick (6 possibly) wouldn't have hurt.

Carl Lawson, WDE, Alpharetta (Ga.) Milton

The prospect – No. 24 in the Top247
The scoop - While the 6-foot-2, 245-pound Lawson remains a “soft” commitment to Auburn, his recruitment is far from a certainty. Last weekend, the Atlanta area prospect visited Tennessee a week after tripping to Clemson. This weekend, the edge rush prospect will travel to Chapel Hill to take a closer look at North Carolina before making a final visit to Auburn the weekend of Feb. 1. Prediction – Tennessee

His career at UT was a cluster $$$$. How can you argue his decision making and yes Da'Rick bailed his ass out in 11. Did you watch? How about when we had a chance to beat UgA and miss st and Mizz? How a bout his check downs and hot routes he never saw or used?

The biggest "Cluster $$$$" this past season was our coaching staff. Most of us knew they had lost the team after the KY game the year before. However we have corrected that problem, we hope.

Now we only have one more "Cluster $$$$" to worry about. If we could only get rid of some of our "Cluster $$$$ing" posters.

And how many times did Pig or DY get hammered by those short throws? Look, I'm not getting into a debate about Bray. Good or bad, the kid put up numbers. He was fighting a losing battle simply because our defense could not stop - anybody. TB was dealt a short hand. Could he have made it better, of course. But the kid was UT's QB during our darkest hour, set some records, let's give him credit where credit due. Now - back to CLAWson.

Dude those same guys made plays through the season. How many times did he over throw receivers or just miss someone wide open? Yes he had some drops. I'm not disputing talent, it was there. He just doesn't have the leadership abilities, or the back bone to make the play with the game on the line.

Man I wish we hadn't lost Bradley or had a legit shot at Bryant. This DE class will be sick if we get Lawson and Bellamy to go with Carr and Miller. A shame we won't have any interior DL to compliment the class.

Maybe Tyler should have thrown them better? Pig or DY can only do so much if the throw takes them headon into a would be tackle. Tyler proved to be what he was. A gunslinger type 3 star QB who had a love of the deep ball. He was a solid QB. Maybe a bit above average. Hard to give a guy much credit when his best win was Cinci at home.

Now as for "Lawson", I would expect game changing talent from him early. He is considered a top recruit. We'll see how it all works on when he hits the field W/E he ends up.

Doesn't Carr telling saban no thanks and deciding to come for and UOV this weekend to recruit for us pretty much indicate he's solidified his commitment?????

As of today, I think Carr has made it clear he is coming to Tennessee. Big time get for this class. Hope he makes it back in this weekend to help recruit.

If the defense played half as well as the offense, we win 8 or 9 games. We beat UF, UGA, Miss St. USC, and Mizz. He couldn't exactly run out there and tackle on defense when they kept giving up huge runs and plays. What's done is done though. I don't think it's right to bash him for the defense's failures.
