'13 GA DE Carl Lawson (Auburn commit)

If Davin flips, Carr reaffirms his commitment, Miller commits, Lawson sounds like he will be a Vol. He has the supporting cast. Jenkins has been in his ear as well. It's shaping up to be a really good fight. Couple that with the possibility of Bell, this defensive class is going to be excellent. We have a ton of momentum with these recruits. More so than I have read about in years.

My gut feeling is that CBJ and staff sealed the deal with Bell.

Gerry Hamilton (247) predicts Carl Lawson to Tennessee. FIWIW.

Hard to state how enormous this would be for this class.

If we land the defensive haul we look like we might, my optimism for next year immediately goes up.

I was thinking 6-6 and a bowl game. With players of this caliber, we might could expect just a little more than that.

I really like our chances with Bell, Lawson, North, and Miller.
I think it will be tough to land Bellamy and/or Barber.
I do not believe we are going to get Green.

Opinions formulated on what I've read about all of these guys.

Also, does anyone think we have a chance at some top tier LBs in this class? TIA

I don't know if incoming freshmen who haven't played a down of college football can raise expectations, but they can certainly raise the potential for next year.

The only LB we're in on is EJ Levenberry who is a commit to FSU but may run away from Sal Salami and join UT's crew if we can impress him on his visit.

Other than that I believe we have Skai Moore but it's not looking promising there. Other LBers in this class are too little too late

Then he needs to get on the horn and start some momentum to collect other players. He is a guy that can do it.

When he goes public I am sure he will be pulling for some more orange. I think the young man has a good head on his shoulders and it seems like he has a good support group around him. His recruitment has been all business. I like that in the young man.

Indeed. If CBJ can land 2-3 of these highly rated young men this year - it raises the stakes in next year's recruiting battle.

I hope Bellamy switches and gets talking to Levenberry.

Two current FSU commits that were both shunned at one point or another by Sal when they wanted a Tennessee offer.

I don't like that he doesn't ever give anything, really. What was said was miss worded here and that's what the response was too. Regarding Christian Morris. Don't get me twisted, you aren't that smart.

I disagree about Tyler, kid is a good talent but lacks leadership. He makes bad decisions at critical times. Our receivers like Da'Rick, Hunter and Patterson bailed him out a lot because they are great players. Check out the draft and combines. Not to mention the talent on the OL

Da'Rick wasn't here this last year? did you even watch

His career at UT was a cluster $$$$. How can you argue his decision making and yes Da'Rick bailed his ass out in 11. Did you watch? How about when we had a chance to beat UgA and miss st and Mizz? How a bout his check downs and hot routes he never saw or used?

Don't give me the play calling crap. He's on the field in command and is the qb. He could check off or hit a hot route instead of winging it 40

That falls heavily on the coaching staff. Coaches are mentors to these kids, hence the big family feeling pitch our coaches use, and Dooley was comparable to the neglectful father.

Also Bray's lack of leadership is overblown, he's not Peyton Manning but he is also not Jamarcus Russell. He just happened to be the QB during very tumultuous times here, and if you think Dooley's three years were hard on you as a fan then you have no idea what Bray and every other player has had to go through.

Did you not see who was coaching him up? TB came to play ball at UT in our darkest hour. Our offense put up crazy numbers. TB and the offense were not the problem. Did you see our defense win a game?

You're not gonna win the argument. People wish to blame Bray for things he could not control. Was he a perfect QB? Not by any means, but without him this dark period would've been much darker.
