So Saban was at his school today(Bump).

Then visits with him/family at their home(Same Day).

Will he be meeting them for breakfast at Waffle House in the morning?

Vonn Bell on Nick Saban: “He’s a DB coach, and he’s going to be coaching me”

Vonn Bell, the 5-star safety from Ridgeland, nearly committed after the completion of his senior season. One of the main reasons he waited was to give a fair shake to his childhood favorite, Tennessee.

His other two finalists are Ohio State and rumored frontrunner Alabama.

“I waited because I wanted to go visit the campuses again, and give Tennessee a chance because they lost their coach at the end of the year,” Bell said. “I want to give everybody an equal and fair shot.”

How does Bell feel about the Volunteers? “They’re in a slump right now but I think Butch Davis … I mean, Butch Jones, is the guy that will bring them out of that slump.”

Bell had a lot of nice things to say about Urban Meyer and his national championship at Florida. But he may have saved his highest praise for Nick Saban.

“Alabama … it just speaks for itself,” Bell said. They are in the national championship again. Coach Nick Saban, he’s a DB coach, and he’s going to be coaching me. So Coach Saban has got guys into the NFL, so his name speaks for himself.

Any news on whether Saban carried his tray?

I heard Bell carried his own tray, but Saban did give him a piggy back ride to the table. It looked a little goofy because with Saban being all of 4'9" tall, Vonn's feet were dragging the floor. There are rumors of pictures floating around as Vonn made a cowboy hat out of a placemat and screamed "Hi-O-Saban"!!

Came off of an Ohio State board:

That's funny right there.

Tennessee, unfortunately, is not at the level to land recruits of his stature at this time. Hopefully, that will change sooner rather than later.

If we can get him next week, I think we got him. He is a Vols fan, and Vols fans deep down don't like Bammer or Florida, no matter if the National Championship winning coach and former Gator Urban Meyer are kissing your butt.

VB's high school coach said back in Nov that VB knew where he was going. If he makes it to Knoxville it will be nothing more then a courtesy visit. I still reserve a little hope that if he does visit he will remember how much he wanted to be a Vol (at one time) and see that he can be one of the cornerstones of our rebuilding and a starter from day one..

Otherwise thanks for ignoring the kid Dooley!!!

He is only 17 I doubt the hatred is to deeply engrained like it is with most Vol fans. Would he be considered a soft verbal bandwagon recruit at this point?

Too much to overcome IMO.

What is sad is that it was a well known fact he was a Vols fan. If we don't get him, this is on Dooley.

Guys, realize this has always been the plan for Saban to be there today. Hopefully Butch does his inhome either later this week or next Monday right after Bama visit. Would be last inhome, and get Bama off mind.
