At this time, it is difficult to say how the de-commitment of receiver Ryan Jenkins -- his friend and former teammate -- from Clemson will impact Lawson. The good news for Clemson is that Lawson also knows Jenkins' brother, Clemson defensive back Martin Jenkins.
"I mean, I don't know me and Ryan are really good friends," Lawson said. "I also know Martin pretty good. He's cool. He would always come to our Milton games."
According to Lawson, he also hopes to make official visits to North Carolina, Ole Miss and Tennessee. He said he doesn't have any visit dates set.
Clemson is definitely the top competition for Lawson. He said he speaks to either coach Elliot or Hobby "everyday." He likes the proximity to home.

That last statement is confusing. Hasn't Lawson already set a date to visit UT? Or, am I thinking of someone else?
Spoke with Carl Lawson Sr. on Friday night who confirmed an official visit to Auburn on Feb. 1. That is the final weekend before signing day.
Auburn four-star commit Tashawn Bower is also planning an unofficial visit that weekend. And I expect Dooly Co. (Ga.) five-star Montravius Adams to officially visit that weekend also.

Every article I have seen about Carl is that if not Auburn then he is going to Clemson. Why is this?
Ya but we are still talked about with Bell and Green so I was just wondering why no one was saying Lawson to TennesseeBecause we haven't won more than 6 games in the last three years. You don't get hype without earning it and sports outlets won't talk about you if you aren't winning.
All of that is void however if you are USCw, Ohio State, or Notre Dame.

What do you think? You think Tennessee is ahead of Clemson?
