This stuff is crazy, I abandoned ship for a little while, when everything got crazy. I jumped hardcore on the Strong bandwagon and was disappointed last night and still am a little, but I realized this "search" has made no sense and here is why:

1. Gundy, Fedora, Fisher all seemed to be pursued very lightly. All were giving extensions or votes of confidence and Tennessee did not try again (very strange, most of the time there is at least an attempt to up the offer).

2. Strong was pursued, but supposedly Cheek was the one doing the leg work not Hart.

3. Supposedly, we are the best job available in the country, but yet we are having to settle for candidates, yes there are academic issues, but there is effort to ease the stipulations. This is strange that the top candidates and midtier candidates seem not to want to sign.

4. The original reason I stopped believing Gruden was coming was because nothing added up and that is the same reason I have returned to my original beliefs.

5. Hart is going someplace, but the media never can seem to put him and the supposed candidates at the same place and time.

6. This means, imo, that there is a hire coming that is either Gruden or big splash hire no one is talking about...

Would love to have him, but it is NOT happening and having a hard time understanding how this is not clear to everyone.


My top 3 from available list is now

Butch Davis
Butch Jones
Bobby Petrino

Fulmer is in there but cannot stand the thought of turning my back on the Vols so I dismiss that talk for personal reasons.

Then I believe a "Fire Jimmy Cheek" & "Fire Susan Martin" campaign is in order. You can still have a great school without making it impossible for students to get in and/or succeed.
Notre Dame was mentioned earlier - why do you think they stunk for so long? Rumor says their academic requirements have recently been eased. I don't know for a fact though.

Radio host was asking Grider about future plans:

Grider said that if things work out he will Athletic Director - Assistant Principal at South Pitt.

Soddy Daisy High School football coach stepped down last week. Therefore, it appears Grider met with the AD at Soddy Daisy High School. Doesn't look like a Grider connection to Gruden but rather Grider interviewing for another high school coaching job.

But if he says he's burnt out coaching like he just said on the radio, why would he run straight to an interview?

Went into panic mode when I couldn't log on to VN last night and early this morning! And now that I am able to, I am getting some negative vibes? What's the word this morning? Anything of substance? Or are we still linking all this negative PR to misdirection? My anxiety is reaching new levels!

How many fat girls would you willing to be seen out in public with before you finally show up with the biggest supermodel in the world? Let people make fun of Tennessee all they want because when, in the end, they have Jon Gruden it won't matter what that perception was. You think people will be saying wow Tennessee sure looked really stupid with all of those coaches that turned them down. No one turned us down it's all part of the Gruden thing.

And once again, it may not mean much to some but I've put this out there on the line. I've heard my own rumblings and am so 100% convinced that Jon Gruden will be named the new head coach at the University of Tennessee that I will retire as a poster (member since 2004) from the Volnation. I will never post again if this doesn't happen. People want to put e-cred on the line and this and that - the best I can do to help assure some of you that it is indeed happening is to put this out there. And I'm a man of my word - if it's not Gruden I will never post on the Volnation ever again.

bcarter can call out Y4B and make it look like a smoke screen...I know how this works. I been readin these threads and now can see thru any smokescreen.

Griden talking about Gruden as a GA. Fox Sports Chattanooga 1370 AM...says he hopes it can happen about Gruden to UT. He says he doesn't know if he's interested or not, has not spoken to him in about a year.

Whom as of today said he was "burnt out"...if he can lie about a high school gig, he can lie about a college gig...true story.
