Question: as a State University, Aren't they required to interview multiple candidates for any significant position?

This coaching search is still much better than the last two coaching searches in my opinion.

With that being said, it still needs to end today!

I just cannot bring myself to open any recruits' theads until we have a coach...

I will wait to see Strong actually turn down the job, but if he does say no bc of this over-extended flirtation with Gundy, Hart really really screwed the pooch.

Everyone has their breaking point. I actually thought I was there. Talking to a buddy of mine and said the same thing, if they screw this up I am done. My 4 year old son who already bleeds orange immediately said "Daddy, you can't quit on Tennuhsee."

This is sounding a lot like the buzz swirling around the Arky job yesterday. So I fully expect us to announce Brett Bielema as our new head coach sometime this afternoon. haha!

If we held out for Gundy that is just dumb. I will say this like I said to a friend. Regardless of the AD I have 0 confidence in the people with decision making when they've brought us the following decisions.

  • Fire Phil before the end of the year; without candidate in hand
  • Passing over Patterson for Kiffen
  • Small buyout for Kiffen
  • Passing over Sumlin for Dooley
  • Keeping MH as long as they did despite numerous screw ups
  • Not having candidate in hand and ready when DD was fired
  • Letting Gruden rumors reach defcon 6
  • Being in a position where his agent can use the words FANTASY WORLD

Anyone believing this is some magically orchestrated plan has short term memory loss.

Any time my Espn app goes off these days I have mini heart attacks thinking of who's name is going to pop up on that screen as Tennessee's new Head Football Coach. :bash:

I still question if Strong isn't just playing his best hand to get a nice raise. This is his one time to do it.

Oh I meant raise with us. Louisville is committed to him enough to make us pay through the nose and he has to know we have a history of having a very poor bluff. It's possible the Fedora, Gundy rumors were us sweating him out to find out how bad he wants to be in the SEC.

charlie strong staying committed to the first university that was willing to give him a HC job and is in a BCS conference most certainly doesnt say he doesnt care about winning anything
