Don't you find it strange that Strong was a LOCK yesterday evening...everyone was going crazy and Skeeter confirmed this to us. Now, the reports are surfacing that Strong may indeed stay at Louisville. Does that not send up a red flag to anyone? Believe what you want...I will eat my crow from the grill with some creole seasoning on it, if it's anyone other than Gruden, but I can't deny how this thing is playing out exactly as it was said to. I hope you will do the same and eat your crow if it's Gruden.

Gruden isn't coming man. The problem is that Hart had Strong on the hook, but still flirted with Gundy. Hence Strong maybe reconsidering.

The way this has gone and the way his agent spoke I agree. He seems to be of the opinion he is above UT if what I believe is correct.

Hindsight is 20-20, but can't believe how caught up in the circle of BS I got.

Give me a proven college coaching commodity.

KV, I think that you speak for EVERYONE with this!! I am tired of it, too! VN will be completely DEAD after this hire, as everyone will need to take a 2 week hiatus.

Today is officially going to be the longest day of this entire search for me.

Yesterday as I left work, I literally had no doubt that this would be over by 5pm today.

Now I don't have any idea what to think.

Tuesday afternoon and early evening, the rumblings surrounding Louisville coach Charlie Strong hit a fever pitch. Multiple sources told Volquest.com that Strong had emerged as the clubhouse leader. Strong has been talking to several coaches about possibly joining him on a Tennessee staff, a staff that would likely have a Vol feel to it.

Strong spent the day in his Louisville office and sources say spent a good bit of the afternoon continuing to research the Tennessee job making sure he had answers to any final questions he had about the University and the job including questions about academics. Tuesday evening Strong even visited with an NFL scout who was in Louisville about the Tennessee job.

Late Tuesday, Yahoosports' Pat Forde wrote that according to sources several in the Louisville athletic family believe that Strong is not going anywhere.

Another source Tuesday night indicated that a significant Louisville donor believed that Strong was leaving the Cardinals.

Got greedy playing chess with Gundy. Lost Strong in the process. Typical cluster **** by a gator Chancellor and a Bama AD. Bill King apparently reporting this morning Strong staying in Louisville.

If gruden is gone and strong and gundy turn us down and hart comes up with a left over coach to hire, I want Haslem to fire his butt, promote Blackburn, and get us a coach. Because at that point, hart is a problem. I hate Alabama.

I am not as sold on Strong as alot of people. I think he would do a decent job and would recruit well. I don't like the idea of Hurtt being a part of this program at all. I would actually hire Fulmer back or Petrino at 2.5 million a year before I hired, and over paid for Charlie Strong.

It is very clear that Dave Hart is going to have to work up a new list of candidates and break out the checkbook and and add some digits to the offer to the potential new hire. We are going to have to severely overpay a new coach, so why not shoot for the moon and go after a David Shaw or Jim Mora. Jr with an offer that they can not refuse.

The only way we do not overpay is if we hire Butch Davis and that is not a far fetched idea.

Seems I get closer and closer to finally being able to confirm my Bama/Gator troll theory concerning the leadership at this university. At the end of the day, though, I think Strong will be our new head coach.

No he just got a raise from what I heard plus earns the same post season bonuses as Saban. The rumor was had the Auburn job in hand, but Bama countered.
