Weird that you're so respectful of recruits and their families but have mocked and made fun of fellow Vol fans on the same page of this thread. Might want to look in the mirror, Nick. Let it go, man.

Wow, sorry to offend Ron. A little fun poking at the Grudenites, but I don't think I was over the top though. All in good fun around here my friend, but yes, I am concerned when it actually affects the futures of these young men.

When people speak in absolutes and belittle those who do not buy in to all they sell, I think a little poking is in order. I am not in people's faces though. Just my point of view. :peace2:

One of my best friends is a stAte grad. I feel pretty bad for him, they've been Kiffin'd two years in a row.

Apparently, Malzahn sold them the exact same bill of goods that Kiffin did to us. "I'll be here forever, we'll make this the Boise of the east..."

Friend said he could see this scenario a year ago, but somewhere along the way he dismissed it.

They were pretty much set up for Malzahn to succeed. That team was loaded.

If they believed a NC OC was at ASU forever, they deserved to get left. GM made it clear he wanted a stepping stone HC job.

According to USA Today that will put him at #7 overall and #3 in the SEC...although those numbers were going into this year and Spurrier will likely move ahead of that putting him at #4...

Of course none of this is confirmed...but I've seen that number mentioned 3 times now

I saw $3.7M floating around 247.

Nothing wrong with loving him...just wrong to assume he's a great coach because he won games as a player here. Seems pretty logical to me.

I understand that but not only was that not the implication, its also wrong. He's a pretty good coach with a reputation as a tireless recruiter, who also happens to be a UT Letterman and alumni.

I'd say it's just is logical to want him here as a position coach.

What evidence do you have for his being a good coach? UK WRs? Qise Lee had an amazing year, but he was already amazing before Tee. Their group as a whole didn't get better as the year went on and I thought it looked worse than last year.

I live in northeast Arkansas. He really did sell it like that and the fans bought in. He really seemed like he wanted to stay so that kind of makes it even more disappointing to see him go.

You hate to see any team lose a good coach after one year, especially twice in a row.

Jerry Jones and all the Wal-Mart heirs of course :)

Right now, Mike Gundy is at his local Stillwater Wal-Mart with that black diamond Wal-mart card thinking, "suckers."

His name will steal the headlines with recruiting and that's all that matters . Espn had an article right under the bielema announcement questioning the hire .

Very true about stealing recruiting headlines. I'm 100% behind Strong, if indeed he is the one. Some of the others that were mentioned, I wouldn't have been too ecstatic about. I think Bielema is a great hire for Arky. I think he will do very well in the SEC. The SEC should make its motto..."The SEC..where the best of the best come to coach and play."

We need great players. Strong will bring them! Hope UL will just let it go. But, we have put ourselves in a position to have to pay alot of money. I think it is worth it. What is behind the next door will not even be close. Get it done Harty boy.

All this Strong chatter has me ready to explode, I'm trying to remain calm b/c there has been a lot of misdirection during this coaching search. Just hoping we see Strong standing at that Podium tomorrow!! #UTStrong #VolStrong #Getonthetrain

Honestly don't understand why he would leave Wisconsin for the SEC West. Wow. Must be a lot of cash thrown his way. His life now gets way harder.

So that's your argument, because they were amazing before he arrived and continued to be amazing after, is the reason why he wouldn't be a good fit here?

that's the most ridiculous thing I've ever heard....
