To many people are over looking ND. They remind me a lot like the 02 OSU team no one gave a chance to vs Miami.

If that makes you feel better.... :good!:

ND has not seen an OL like Bamas, hell nobody has until they play them. ND is not a threat on offense and with a month to prepare Saban will eat their lunch. ND will come out all fired up but as soon as they get punched in the mouth they will fold. Bama will just chug along and win by at least two TDs.

And that hurts to say.

Here's how it will go. We'll deny that we ever offered Kirby. He will make some vague statement about how he's happy at Alabama. He won't deny he got the offer. He won't confirm it either.

The rumor mill will say we offered him and he declined. It will be all over the local reports. It will become common belief that he turned us down.

When he hits the recruiting trail, he will tell kids and their parents that he turned down $3.2 million a year from AU because we are a dumpster fire/going on NCAA probation/have a bunch of skeletons in our closet. He'll use it against us on every kid they want for the next few classes. They'll humiliate us with it at every turn.

And who created this rumor...not bama. It will be our own guys. Our own AD and his cronies that floated this test balloon and never saw the other side of it coming. Self inflicted wounds.

:rofl::rofl::rofl::rofl:

From BOL earlier today:

Remember, the world of college coach searches is all about positioning and semantics. There's no way Auburn "officially" offers Smart unless they are a 100% certainty that he accepts. So be prepared for several stories stating that Smart was not offered, and conversely, that he was verbally offered but said no. There's not really a need for us to get in the middle of did Auburn offer Smart or not at this time. We will have some commentary on how all of this played out at a later date.

All this stalling for Gundy is risky. Strong might lose his patience and sign an extension with the 'Ville. I don't like it. Gundy is too expensive and I think he's trying to leverage some new powers over the Ok St program. JMO. Gundy has been way too forward and putting things out in public. Smells fishy to me...

Extension or get a raise? I thought Strong's current contract with UL has him there for the next few years.

They have played 1 top 50 offense all year. so im no sold on just how amazing their offense is. and the one power Offense they faced was Stanford and that should have been a loss.

They have no weapons on the outside (which is Bamas only weakness on D)

I will be shocked if they score more than 14 pts

The year after his QB was Barrett Trotter. Even a great coach can't win with an awful QB.

Obviously Malzahn isn't proven, but IMO he is better than Fedora or Gundy. I think he's a better X and O coach then either of them and possibly a better recruiter too. He did a great job at A-State getting people excited about football. This year they set records for attendence.

He wouldn't be my top choice, but you could do a lot worse.

Auburn QB is made for the Spread and was a top 5 QB recruit , that'll help Gus tremendously.

:hi: Thanks Lynx. Meant that, wrote the other. Trying to follow the board while working. Too stressful right now. I'm tired trying to follow it all. :eek:lol:

No one is for sure that Strong is the top candidate for Hart. Also, Hart reportedly interviewed Fedora today. I don't see UT making an announcement until tomorrow at the earliest.

I think deductive reasoning says Strong is the top candidate. But I don't see the hold up. Skeeter who has been right this whole time, has clarified for many that it's Strong's job if he wants it, and it will come down to Hart making the offer.

I dont think Gundy is a real option for the reason you mention. Hes putting too much out there, making a show of it. Hes trying to get a raise/more control and thats it. Never have you seen a coach be this open about looking somewhere else, giving intimate details etc.

I am still on the Strong train but would like to have seen him be more aggressive or heard more chatter about Mora.

Gundy was a national coach of the year, and (some say shouldve played for a national title game last year.)

He has made OSU into a very good team the past 4 years.

Not sure how you think He is better than Gundy.

Gundy is better than Malzahn, IMO, but not sure about how he fits at UT.

I wanted Hart to interview Mora just to be certain we got the very best we can. I would give an edge to Strong but I really like Mora Jr too. If he wasn't a west coast guy he would definitely be even with Strong. It's a shame he turned all the SEC schools a cold shoulder.

I agree somewhat. but im dont put that much stock into "recruiting connections" with Gundy. Being at a program like UT would make him a better recruiter.

Just bc he hasnt recruited this area much doesnt mean he cant IMO

Confused as to why we haven't pulled Strong, Wisconsin has reached out to him now.

I know I've said it a million times, but I want a coach who is dedicated to running the ball. In the SEC, you have to run to win. Think about all the teams who have recently won national championships. They are all run first teams.

That is a big part of the reason I prefer Malzahn over Gundy. The air raid will get picked apart by Bama, LSU, Florida, ect...

Strong pulls a lot more weight than Gundy does in the south with recruits.

They wont make it tonight, tonight is phils night. Another day of waiting wont hurt anything IMO.

Yea now, but if Gundy got here and started building relationships with these players and hs coaches, no one knows how well he could recruit.

His players LOVE him, thats all im going by.

I'm not certain Wisconsin has reached out to him unless you have a different source. The guy who posted that in the Cliff Notes is a troll.
