Auburn247 reporting if Smart is HC he will bring Mike Bobo as DC. At the same time, AU247 saying Gus is leading candidate for HC.

I continue to think Smart.

If Mike Bobo wants to leave Athens, I know a lot of people that would be happy to help him pack.

Strong seems to fit the UT brand better and could sell what we have easier . Gundy could be a better offensive coach and prob better gameday manager but if strong brings in top tier talent it mitigates those tough gameday calls.

OSU radio guy just stated Briles just signed extension with Baylor.

Gundy to Arky is not a done deal but has escalated.

I can't recall. Again , I'm not making the decision to hire anyone , however I can see the Gundy appeal . Strong to me is a better candidate for UTs needs, his ability to out recruit Franklin is a necessity. I think if he is offered the job, and if he brings some top OC then it's game on. At some point Hart needs to pull the trigger this week .

I can't really think of any pass first champions during the BCS era. Maybe Oklahoma in 2000? Mike Leach had a big impact on their offense.

My point was just because Gundy is better with football strategy doesn't mean his strategy is best.

Of course Arkansas would have to blow Gundy away to get him since everyone around there looks about like this

I am so glad our coaching search has not reached the ridiculous proportions that Ark's has. For those clamoring for more information about UT's coaching search should see the cluster that the Hogs coaching search has become and be thankful our has not been handled that way so far. Plus, they have had since the Spring to get something done and STILL haven't.

Arkansas and Clemson fans are like poodles that look in the mirror and see a Great Dane.

After being turned down by the first 5 coaches they offered, I imagine Arkansas had to step up the presentation.

John Daly has been on a roll this morning on Twitter telling them to give Bobby Petrino a second chance.

Miami, USC and Oklahoma would be the closest.

I don't know at this point. It's crazy all the stuff that's being said out there. I have gotten two calls in the last ten minutes saying that Charlie Strong has told some people he's staying at Louisville. I have not verification of that at this point.

So it could be setting for a wild afternoon.

Per sources, Arkansas presented Gundy's family with the rare black diamond Wal-Mart card, only ten of which were known to be made. Arkansas included two cheers from eight cheerleading members while a pep band of eight horns played two fight songs. Gundy was said to be impressed with the presentation, which included a taped welcome from Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones and PGA golfer John Daly, noting that Tennessee delivered its two-hour pitch and interview on an iPad.

Oklahoma was 100% original air raid split backs. Doesn't mean there was a large gap in ratios though.

This is what bothers me. My gut tells me that we had Charlie Strong on the hook, he wanted the job, and we kept looking. That would upset me too if I was in Strong's position.

At some point you have to pull the trigger. You don't get to interview every candidate available, and think that by the end of that weeks long process everyone will still be available.
