'13 AL LB Zac Cunningham

bc we have had numerous Freshman start recently because there is no other legit talent.
there is no doubt in my mind McNeil could contribute everywhere in the country but he is one of the few recruits on the defensive side of the ball who are instant impact guys.

those guys at Florida could play and start anywhere (specifically Morrison, Bullard, Humphries and Fowler).

and part of that starts with recruiting guys who are physically ready to compete.

what about Vereen if we are just talking freshman.

:salute:

We have maybe two HS guys in the front seven of this class(Zanca and Carr) who are physically ready to help this team under this staff. Taking a bunch of projects is like taking jucos all over the place. Won't win anything in the SEC with that.

At Boise State or TCU you can do this but we're Tennessee. I used to redshirting guys like John Henderson and Jerod Mayo. Not this BS and to all the naysayers I will NOT lower my standards.

That's how far we've fallen and how far we need to climb back/rise. I feel your pain. Those were days when Tennessee and powerhouse were synonymous as was being consistently ranked in Top 5-10 and in (media) NC gm conversation.

Don't think they played Muscle Shoals first round but I do think they won.

And FWIW Bama was going to grayshirt Kwon Alexander too even though he starts for LSU right now.

So, are you saying Bama likes him enough to offer? Even if it is a grayshirt? LOL if true.

Yes they like him but since the class is almost full there is no spots left at the moment and his only option, if he would consider it, seems to be a grayshirt unless we miss on someone by NSD.

Muscle Shoals is the second round game.

Kwon didnt fit Bama's system but he is perfect for what LSU does. LSU LB core was very average last year, so the opportunity to play early was definitely there.

For those interested in stars... now listed as a 4* on 24/7 w a rating of 90.

From reading all the posts on the first couple pages, I would say that just about describes everyone that posted in this thread apparently.

He is still a project, he would be a take imo if we didn't already have 4 projects commited at LB. Hopefully UT can still recruit impact players. He could be a take if the coaches cut a current LB loose.

finished the season with 194 tackles, 12 sacks, 43 tackles for loss and four blocked punts

Same situation Kwon Alexander was in last year. Space is limited and he is only 204 lbs. He has to get alot bigger to play LB in a 3-4.

Would probably work out well in a 4-3. I'll bet I know a place he can go without a gray shirt :good!:
