Siap saw where Mizzou's OC stepped down & Chaney mentioned as a possibility. Seems like a good fit for him but not sure how much longer Pinkel will be there with his seat warming up.

Also, how sorry are these bcs bowls this year...I'm ready for the 2014 playoffs. Maybe since we were the first to win the bcsnc we'll be the first to win the ncaa playoffs.....led by Jon FN Gruden :)

So to spark some Strong discussion. Who would be top candidates for OC/DC?

We could dive into position coaches but thats just nuts and bolts right now, I want to know who the potential play callers would be.

I really like the thought of Ellis Johnson but would he be willing to work with Strong? Strong would want his hands in the defense and that could be an interesting duo if they could work together.

Corch Skrong is the real D play caller. I don't see him giving that up. I'm with VOP the OC is critical. The AD MUST be willing to hire someone that is top shelf. I'm thinking in the 800,000 to 1.5 range per year.

To all the Gruden fans,

Why is there a need for a smokescreen. Why the hell just not hire te man a week or two ago. It'd been nice to have him, but it will be nicer to have a quality head coach that wants to be here. Bring in Charlie!

I'd love Johnson. However, I've read that Bedford is tied to Cholly's hip.

When I read Pelini's name, this is all I see in my head:

I just see a guy that was flashed retarded by a camera.

Dude is seriously one goofy looking baz-tahhhhhd. LOL.

If Jay Graham doesn't stay on this staff, I for one, will be beyond pissed.

He has to be in the discussion for top 5/10 RB coaches in the country, or have I had too much orange draank?

Fine by me. Obviously OC is the more important hire. I don't know much about Bedford honestly.

Coach DB's w/ the Chicago Bears in the late 80's or early 90's, coached DB's at Michigan for a few years when Woodson won the Hiesman, coached DB's at UF for a handful of years, tutored Joe Haden. Left UF & came to UL w/ Strong to be his DC & has been for the past 3 years.

3 names I like:

Billy Gonzales - Illinois WR coach Co-OC
Brian White - Florida RB's coach
Mike Candidate - Wisconsins OC

Solid resume, I have no issue with bringing him with that background.

This has been discussed in length in the Gruden thread. In short, Gruden and others wanted to distance himself from the Dooley firing.

I know i may get bashed for this but what would y'all think of Chavis coming back as the DC? Doubt he would leave a talent rich team though

Nothing to dislike there. He's a Texas guy too right?

I like Gundy way more than Pelini

Gundy knew he needed to change and become a head coach instead of just an offensive guy and he did that.

He recognized his failures and has tried to adjust. he brought in Bill Young.

and Minus the road loss to Iowa State played immediately after plane crash and deaths of people in their athletic dept. that Okie State team would have had a Very Legit chance to beat alabama in the National title game.

Pelini has yet to develop anyone on offense. he has been wriding T Magic for 3 years now and he has shown ZERO improvement.
the team collapses late yearly and unless he has a Monsters on Defense (Suh, Prince, Dennard etc...) , their defense hasnt been "blackshirt" worthy
