How can there be such drastically different info out there? Ainge thinks we aren't getting strong, 247 puts out a list with him on it but other names at the top, chattanooga tfp talking about fisher getting offered, and of course your info. I trust yours more than the others just wondering why it is all so different

Swain is getting info from Buck Fitzgerald and/or Big Will IMO. They've both said that the Trinity kids would listen hard along with Ramsey here in state. I truly believe that we have a punchers chance to get Ramsey to Knoxville if Strong is hired. Buck wouldn't troll or throw sh!t out there.

I am loving the fact that we are running around like chickens with our heads cut off with this coaching search. I love how one minute Hart is talking to Gruden, then Strong, possibly Fedora, back to Gruden, then Gundy, then Golden (bot maybe not), then he may have a couple of days ago/is today/never will be talking to Jimbo Fisher....it is seriously awesome.

The reason I am enjoying it is that it seems like we have someone running the AD who has a firm grasp on things and it gives me confidence in our future. Thankfully we are not like Arkansas that is offering the job to every Tom, Dick, and Harry that expresses an interest, much like our last coaching search. I am REALLY ready for this saga to be over, but I like how it has been handled to this point.

Obviously this would be huge for the program. What about the young DB out of Trinity? White I think? I wonder if we would be in play with him.

Not to change the subject from UT but damn that game is going to suck. It's also bull sh!t that GA can't get in that game b/c of the rule limiting SEC schools bowl participation.

I think Hart will make an offer with in the next 24-48 hours. I think he will speak with Fisher today and i would be very surprised if anything came from that. I really dont think Fisher wants to play UF, Bama and UGA every year.

Don't forget Ryan White from Trinity. I know that a lot of posters, myself included, liked his potential. Only knock on him is his height/size.

Skeeter, Hubbs hinted that Hart might not make it to NY until Tuesday (if at all). You heard what his plan is?

He picked up Hart and crew at the airport yesterday morning. He was interviewed at his home. They spent several hours together. Not sure on the outcome. Hubbs said before the interview he had no problem getting info from Stillwater. He said that after the interview everyone has clammed up. Not talking...

As of this morning, 247 still thinks it's (1) Fisher and (2) Gundy. I think they are wrong. I haven't been following 247 through this search, and for some reason, I checked this morning. I think they are misinformed, JMO.

We’ve covered several coaching changes in the past decade, and this has been the most difficult one to this point. A UT official laughed Sunday night and said this site has “actually been pretty good” at finding information,

A DB class of White, Ramsey, Sutton, Bell, and depending on what side of the ball they put him at JRM would be a gigantic step forward for the secondary. Add those guys to Bonner, Gray, and Coleman who I think have potential with a defensive minded guy like Strong calling the shots and we are back in business sooner rather than later.

I'd like to see Mora Jr get an interview as well. I might like him if he was committed to stay somewhere long term and the contract was in our favor. To me its Strong by a nose, then Mora. JMO.

Just one tidbit from the update: Staley spent over three hours in the Levenberry household this past week "mending" the UT relationship with the family. EJ will get his official offer this week and Hubbs said this is a huge deal for the family. They are planning a January visit now and Hubbs said this is definitely one to watch.

If we hire Strong we will have alot of guys back in play. Quick has Louis high on his list because of Strong. Hire Strong and you get a great defensive minded coach that can recruit. Like our chances with Green, North, Bell, Quick, Levenberry and several others.

I think the more entrenched recruiting connections the coach has the longer (by just a day or two) the search can go. For example, if it is someone like Gundy then it needs to happen ASAP, but if it is Strong, Fedora, or Fisher it can wait til later in the week because they have pre-existing relationships with HS coached in the south. I trust Hart because he hasn't given me a reason not to, and the money/administration trusted him enough to give him the job.

Edit: You have to be a special kind of crazy to want to coach in the SEC and play UF, UGA, Bama, USCe every year. :hi:

Poster on VQ who lives 25mi from Stillwater, OK is saying local news is reporting Gundy has been offered.
