Not going to say Boro, Jay, DTO and others were FOS in any way. I know they believed what they were hearing.

I regret majorly listening to info from the money guys. They always let their mouth overload their ass.

When it comes to Jake, DTO, Boro, Jay, Lex, and Gman I know them now away from the forum and can tell you 100% they were never FOS, but in my opinion they and myself were told elaborate lies that were repeated so much by people that "should know" they were impossible to identify as false.

To be fair, the fact that he is at the Chattanooga times could probably be used to diminish that argument.

Guys like Chris Low on ESPN have tons of inside contacts and he always said two things, 1) UT and Gruden was a longshot, 2) Gruden was famous for doing exactly what happened, walking away at the alter.

Somewhat.

There has to be some way to give Gruden some of the control he wants. It's no secret that he's a planner and a touch OCD. Why is the AD who isn't in the trenches with the team setting up the schedule? One would think the actual HC would know best who to play that would give his team the best challenges in prep for a championship run.

Gruden could be given some of this control without needing the associate AD title. This seems to be the sticking point on the ego clash between Gruden and Hart. What we haven't heard is how much control if any that Hart is willing to give ground on. If Gruden really wants to be here I have to think he has a point of compromise that he's comfortable with. Question is, is it Hart or Gruden that hasn't reached that point?

Exactly. Media all over East Tn were throwing crap at the wall hoping it would stick. Now it's save face time and blame UT for their bad reporting.

I finally have accepted the fact that we are not getting Chucky...very sad day yesterday. I wanted Gruden to UT more than Ive ever wanted anything in my life lol No, not true but its up there lol It seems like we are cursed..nothing good ever happens for this program. Look at the bball game against Georgetown..ya see what I mean?! Heartbreak after heartbreak for us UT fans..its sickening.

I do believe in miracles though, and feel we still could reel him in if Hart wises up and stops being an arrogant priq!!

I choose to believe that we were a victim of circumstance when we hired Dooley. We had a lame @ss AD and Kiffin screwed us in the 11th hour (literally) and left us under heavy suspicion with the NCAA.

We got rejected over and over by the guys that Hamilton went after and we got stuck hiring Dooley because we were out of time.


This time we made the decision to change coaches and we have all the time in the world figuratively to make a good decision.

I think he hired Kiffin over Kelly and Dooley over Sumlin if my memory serves me correctly.

I agree Gruden could be given some of the control.

My point was what if Gruden wants ALL of the control and wont accept anything less. That was my hypothetical.

I think that it is probably worse than that. I think that so much information is created by fans from boards like this, where speculation is repeated until it is gospel. People then call into radio talk shows, fueling the fire. This is all picked up by other media types, who call their sources. Their sources have heard everything that we, the fans, started and it seems to corroborate the information they are being asked to confirm.

It is an endless loop that ends with Lovie, Shannon, and Gruden type situations where we feel that we have been mislead by a huge master plan where an evil puppeteer has pulled the wrong strings. That argument is such an elaborate farse that it can't even support its own weight.

EDIT: What do I know, maybe I am too naive. Maybe there is a bammer trying to claim prima nocte and breed UT out of UT from the inside while Cheek, the evil gator, is doing all he can to assure UT sinks further into irrelevancy. Who knows?

Those booster types are dumbarses, that is for sure. Always want to feel like they are somehow important to the football program. I get your point loud and clear.
