Truth.
In the three years prior to his arrival they were averaging only 4 wins a season. In the three years since his arrival Louisville is averaging over 7 wins a season (That was before they beat Rutgers and not including the bowl game).
So, if Louisville wins their bowl game Strong will have averaged 8 wins a season DOUBLE what happened in the three years before he came.
People talk about his recruiting being bad. He is recruiting to Louisville, largely against the SEC/B1G schools due to proximity and he has averaged a 10 point or so bump in recruiting. In fact, his first two years on the job will average about the same recruiting class average as Franklin has at Vandy.
I've said this all before, but it bears repeating.
The difference between Franklin (Im using Franklin as a measuring stick because so many are impressed with what he has done) and Strong is that Strong has actually beaten a ranked team, beaten teams with winning records, won a bowl game. Look at the media love that Franklin is getting (no doubt that is helping recruiting). Do you think UT's first black coach would get a ton of press coverage? Do you think that would help Strong's already solid ability to recruit? I do.
The man has never had a losing season. his record coming into UT would be .608 all time.
Compare that to where we have been since we fired Fulmer. We hired two coaches with all time losing records...this is a huge step forward, even if the fans feel like it is a let down.
End rant.
