Just throwing this out there....UH...you guys have looked at Coach Strong's record this year havent you....I mean...literally beat no one...and the ones he did beat, most were really, really close...and got the stuffings beat out of him by Syracuse, not a power house by anybodies imagination...now I think Coach Strong is a good man and probably can recruit as well....but don't we need a coach with a stronger resume??? Just asking.....

What has Fedora done that CCS hasn't? L'ville and USM are on par...UNC Davis left the guy with all types of talent and it's still the ACC. Not beating down LF but his resume isn't just beating Strong out the water.

Find me a team that wins their conference easily. The fact is that is nobody is going to be able to bring in the amount of talent from top to bottom that would allow them to walk away with it. So yes, he barely won the bigeast, but he barely won the big east with a big east team.

I posted this here because the "speculation" thread is a bunch of silliness. I personally would love a Charlie Strong hire. That being said, with our resources, what recruits would we be in on, or possibly be able to sway before signing day.

Also, if Strong were to come, would you like the idea of keeping Chaney and the offensive staff? Obviously we can put up points. I also think him and Hinshaw would take Florida over. You've seen what Strong can do with Florida talent on defense.

I agree with you...keep Chaney, he has done pretty well and the players seem to like him.

Jmo but I think strong would give it a heck of shot at turning us into a real power house, between his coaching and recruiting skills, and UT's resources. Would much rather see him come them jimbo

People need to take a closer look at how his recruiting compares to other Big East teams. It's unreasonable to expect top 25 classes in the current Big East.

Charlie Strong is definitely strong (sorry) candidate and someone that I could get behind. I'm concerned that we may not be willing to pay his $2.2 million Louisville buyout, which would be on top of the $9+ million to Dooley, Chaney and the other assistants. If he were to keep some of our assistants, say Jay, Sam, maybe Darin, it would help to take the edge off his buyout price.

Exactly what I have been saying. It is impressive when you are able to beat out teams like Clemson, USC, Auburn, and many other big time programs for any players when you are having to recruit to the Big East. It is absurd though to think somebody could do that for a whole class. Strong is consistently in the top two of the big east with Rutgers, and unlike Rutgers Strong is not in a talent rich state like New Jersey.

I'm beginning to become a believer in Charlie Strong. I am convinced he can win here.

Given what CCS inherited, I'd say his resume is better than LF. Fedora had some amazing talent on his roster and still didn't do any better than Strong who had garbage 2 years ago.

SIAP but would Strong bring Hurtt? He looks dirty to me. If he can land that talent the right way, I'll take him. How much of UL recruiting success is Strong and how much is Hurtt?

Strong was successful without Hurtt. However I would expect that Hart would have to ask some tough questions about him.

I wasn't endorsing Fedora!

Sorry if I sound ignorant here, but can someone explain why Strong would immediately help recruiting? His recruiting classes at Louisville have been pretty subpar especially this year.

He has not signed a top 150 player in the last 2 years!

Don't let those clowns represent the majority of the fan base.

Amen those clowns are still acting like a girl that dumped before prom. They won't get excited about anything other than Gruden and most reasonable people knew that wasn't happening. I like Strong and feel that if we don't get him auburn or Arkansas will get him and be dang good in a couple years. He's a great coach

He has signed the 2nd,1st, and 2nd ranked classes in the conference. His current class is ranked lower because of numbers. It's the best class in the Big East by ASR.

Right, since big east schools sign top 150 players all the time . The only team in the big east that has signed a top 150 player in the past two years is Rutgers, and a lot of that had to do with the fact that Darius Hamilton is from New Jersey. He has been limited on who he can recruit based on the fact that he is having to try and sell a dying conference and the University of Louisville, but his recruiting prowess is evident with players like Nick Dawson, Gerod Holliman, Bridgewater, Andrew Johnson, and many others.

Keep hearing about Strong's recruiting being a big draw, but Louisville doesn't seem to be killing it right now. UCONN is well ahead of them in the recruiting rankings. Is this a concern to anybody here? How have his other classes been in terms of ranking while at Louisville?

Never mind, this post answers a few questions.

Connecticut is ahead of them right now because of sheer numbers, Louisville actually has a higher star ranking just not many players. Odds are that if Strong stays at Louisville they will be first or second in the big east come national signing day (Rutgers will likely be the only competition as there is some talent in New Jersey).

Does nobody understand how hard it is to recruit to louisville? They are a bball school with a tiny stadium, fair-weather fans who show up late and leave early at games. The city is dirty and there is not much to do as compared to other places. They just recently got there conference situation figured out which was also hurting recruiting. He would do great recruiting to UT.
