'13 VA RB Derrick Green (Michigan commit)

@BrOoKyLn_boii27: Just finished breaking bread with the fam & the coaches from #Michigan at the house!! Had a great night!! #A2 #GOBLUE

Pretty sure CJG is also going sometime this week, still feeling pretty confident depending on the hire.

If they were smart they would keep CJG. We did so much better rushing this season. Yeah, we didn't really have a go-to back but it was so much more improvement from last season. Seems like when we fix one thing another thing breaks(defense). I really hope that we get Green. I say if we get Gruden before his(Green's) decision then I would say it would improve our chances significantly but even if we don't and we get another bigger name coach then it would help the persuasion.

Cliffs from Rivals article -

I know he really likes the campus, atmosphere and some of the assistant coaches at Tennessee and Auburn. Usually, when a head coach is fired and someone new comes in, the new head coach will replace all of the assistants. I doubt Green decides to go to Auburn or Tennessee, especially if Graham or Curtis Luper are not retained by the new regime....That leaves Michigan and Ole Miss. I have said for a while now that Michigan is the favorite but that doesn't mean Ole Miss doesn't have a chance.

Jay Graham will be retained.. hopefully with Sam Pittman. A few of the OLP are saying that if Pitt isn't retained then they are NFL bound. Keep Pittman=one of the best OL's in the country next year.

I'd say ours was pretty up there this year considering they were 2nd in the nation is sacks allowed

From Green

@BrOoKyLn_boii27: Just finished off a good night with the family and #AU coach & #VOLS! ... Its all a blessing & im very grateful

I hope he succeeds greatly wherever he goes. He sounds like an awesome person.

I agree. He and his family have done it the right way. He has been polite in the interviews and not sought attention, which naturally comes with his high recruiting status. Reminds me of Marcus Lattimore when he was being recruited.

"Exchanged texts with the nation's No. 1 RB this morning about his visit with coach Luper this week. He said the visit was very good, it of course wasn't the first time talking to him but it was really good speaking to him face to face again and Auburn is still amongst his top schools.

He said coach Luper has no idea who the next coach will be nor if he'll be retained so it's a lot of wait and see but I think if Luper sticks, Green loves everything else about Auburn. But he has told me that his position coach is very, very important so Luper is key."

My thinking is that Green feels the same about Graham.

hmmm then he will be in a pickle if both Graham and Luper are not retained, and probably head to Michigan. Let's pray that Graham is retained, he is a top class coach and recruiter.

I doubt Hart would go so far as to insist on it, but you have to believe he'll strongly recommend him to the new coach, for money, fan, recruit, and player related reasons.

NO WAY! You guys will see. Against top competition he does Nothing. He looks great against those scrub teams you see on his highlight tapes but when he plays top D's like he will in the SEC he doesnt come through. Not even the best back in the region. No way hes the best in the Nation. Read My post on Paul Robertson. I hear DG is a great kid with good grades and I wish him well but I just dont want the kid in Orange. He is more of a ACC kid. Hell the Big 10 will wear him out with their LB play.

Better head on his shoulders for sure. He's bigger and just as fast, so I'd say he's BB good or better.

He's not Bryce Brown good. Brown has much better cutting ability and is a better natural runner. Our fans seem to not realize how good Brown would've been at RB for us. He was on Trent Richardson's level for good reason.

Green is very good though.

We'll see what he does in the SEC. :) I personally think you're boy the little scat back(forgot his name) would get killed in the SEC.
