Well I'm shocked they've confirmed anything ATP. Hubbs and company seem to be off their game lately. Not sure what's up with them...

Its good info. We now know for a fact a candidate is being interviewed. The search is starting to really pick up.

Yeah that was kinda what I was getting at. Just kinda stings that he makes us look like loons. Which I know we didn't do a lot to prevent such an image.

There were legs to the story, but claiming mutual interest and saying the deal is done and its just a matter of time are two totally different things.

So what does it serve to castigate the insiders? What are you going to do to them? Hang'em on the courthouse lawn? He!!, to the boosters, it probably looked like a done deal, right up until the time it wasn't. Time to move on and act like we are adults, not teenagers in High School. Time to get behind the program and hire a new coach, who ever that is (Please not Golden)!

Now please bring us the staff that locks up current commits like Sanders, Reeves-Maybin, Carr, Bradley etc, lands us guys like North and Green and can flip Ramsey, Hatcher and Lawson. Go get that coach and his staff.

Franklin would be awesome. He'd turn UT down though, IMO. Vandy sure looks a lot better than the crap at UT. Probably 1 or 2 more years with Vandy and he'll get an offer from a real big time football school.

I agree with this, but the sad reality is there hasn't been a proven good coach mentioned yet, just a bunch of mediocre coaches and a couple unprovens.

I just want this over with one way or the other. At this point it would less embarrassing to hire anyone and move on that to let this fester in the media for another couple of weeks. Look at the Dooley situation. The media laughed at us for a day or so and then moved on.

Does anyone know the coaches who are supposed to be in new York this weekend? Hasn't there been talk of him Interviewing some while there?

Do you see me on the coaching forum bashing them? Have I went over there and said I told you so? I really don't care. I'm not going to go out of my way to do that, but the whole fanbase is being laughed at and a new coach will not get a fair shot by the fanbase because of those rumors.

Now its Dave Hart's fault and he is a terrible A.D. eventhough he hasn't done anything wrong.

I think Strong with a good offensive staff or Fedora with a good defensive staff could be really good hires for Tennessee. For me, a lot of success will be dependent upon the assistant's abilities to coach and recruit.

Kind of like a president or CEO, their success depends a great deal on their lieutenants doing the leg work and heavy lifting for them.

I will puke if they even consider Franklin. He needs to jump now for that big time offer cause his stock will never be higher than it is right now.

Agreed. My hope is a defensive minded head coach with a very strong staff, especially at offensive coordinator.

It was certainly a mess and chaotic; it was not, however, laughable. But everyone is entitled to his own opinion. Hopefully we can find a good coach. The way I look at it, anyone other than Gruden, Stoops, and Petrino is a gamble but could possibly have success here. You do the rest of the math. I'll invest when it's worth investing.

This comment is all I need to know about Strong

Multiple 5 star recruits just moved to the edge of their seats! After Gruden, we must get Strong. Some don't realize how close we really are to disaster as far as talent level on our roster. We need a GREAT recruiting class signed in Feb. we can afford not to have a top 2 or 3 SEC class now. next year may be too late.

A couple of those guys probably know someone but I wouldn't call them insiders. The few solid insiders we do have on here got bashed for saying Gruden wasn't coming.

Hubbs isnt off his game.

He told everyone from the jump the infintesimally small chances of landing Gruden.

peopke just chose not to believe the closest source to the Tennessee Athletic department.

everyone just wanted to be the 1st to say they knew instead of letting things play out and actually doing legit legwork.

I hope Hart is interviewing Strong today, hires him by Monday, & he starts putting his staff together & gets moving toward finishing this class off w/ a bang.

Hart didn't do anything and thats the problem. He could have came out and said I tried but he didn't want to come so I'm moving on and ask the fanbase to get behind me and support me through this process. Instead he sat there not saying or doing anything either knowing Gruden didn't want to come or that he had no interest in going after gruden and let the rumors hit a fever pitch.
So sorry but Hart did do something wrong, he did nothing to kill or contain the rumors.

I think the fan base will move on. Who ever is picked, the fans will get behind, even if it's Golden. He is still a step up from Dooley. I've been talking via email and text with other fans all day long and almost all have moved on from Gruden and are solely concentrated on who else is available. And they are as rabid fans as the ones that are here. We will be ok... even if it's Golden.
