While we reported Wednesday that talks between UT and Jon Gruden have broken off, we think chances of UT hiring Gruden are 5% or worse.

UT officials reached out to Jon Gruden's agent for meeting today but Gruden canceled meeting - don't know why. Could reschedule later

Hyams today:
Jon Gruden is out as UT candidate. Informed UT recently after phone talks last week. UT never offered contract, source said.

Sorry, but how can anyone believe anything this guy says. He's all over the place.

The cliff notes need to be cleaned up, I talked in there, thinking I was here. Anyway, that is why nobody believes the Knoxville press, because according to them, until he "cancelled" we were never talking to him in the first place. And Chattanooga doesn't put a headline like that on the front page with no good source. That is a reputable newspaper.

its not likely to happen IMO. i'm less than 5% chance.. closer to 1 than 5.

he believes what his sources are telling him.

that is all any of us can do unless we are Dave Hart, Jim Haslam or Jon Gruden. and I ain't any of those dudes.

Unlikely. ESPN never breaks news with regards to any of their current employees. See the Urban Meyer hiring by OSU last year. ESPN was basically the last ones to report the news.

Even if that's true, they won't be able to ignore it, should it come to fruition, kind of hard to when you are carrying the broadcast of the press conference live. (just speculating please do not take out of context)
