These guys have no concept of negotiating anything. They think everything is black and white.

Here is the obvious follow up question (assuming the tweet is correct): Was there a counteroffer?

It is one thing to reject an offer during negotiations. it is quite another to END the negotiations altogether.

I think this is closer to the truth then an announcement of him being coach today. BUT remember that Hyams came out a day or two before Kiffin was named coach and said almost the exactly same thing.
