And to hire an offensive staff to get it done. Behind Gruden, I think Strong is where we should go.

But hell who knows if he would even come here at this point. It shouldnt be like that at Tennessee, but thats pretty much how it feels.

Since arriving at UL (includes his 2010 class which wasn't entirely his, doesn't include the 2013 class) Strong's average finish in recruiting rankings per Rivals is 29th. The previous 3 years before Strong arrived it was 55th.

It will be interesting to see who Strong would bring in as assistants if he came here. Especially at offensive coordinator. Often a head coach is only as good as his staff.

If it were up to me it would be Gruden no doubt, but it isn't happening. I'd then have my list like this:

Mora Jr.
Pelini
Strong
Golden

If we have to go anywhere other than those then bring back Fulmer & Chavis as a package deal, keep Graham & Pittman, hire Tee away from USC, & bring Dan Brooks back as DL coach.

I'll got mocked for those but who cares. Lol.

Liberal Arts background. Makes sense. Agree with Skeeter, she would be better suited in Cali instead of Tennessee. Whomever the bonehead was the gave here the position she has should be 'full metal jacketed' when he goes to sleep. And do the same to her and Cheek as well.

The silver lining in all of this is that whoever we get, that person will be such a HUGE upgrade over Doofus that we will think they hung the moon. That's why this job is so attractive IMO.

Pelini is one I had on my list as well and alot of people don't seem to think he has done well at Nebraska.

The Fulmer idea I could go for. Only thing I would add is I would like to see him hire Monken away from Okie State as our OC. He makes 600 grand a year. Give him a million and call it a day. Fulmer & Pittman working with the OL would be fantastic.

Charlie Strong lacks the outgoing personality, charisma, a great scheme, and strong recruiting ability that we currently need at Tennessee. If we were on auto-pilot and winning 9-10 game a year, then sure he would be a good fit. However, we are not in that position and need a dynamic coach.

We are not playing in the Big East. We will be playing the best teams in the country with the best coaches in the country. That calls for a special coach with special abilities.

I agree on Mora and Strong. I would put Pelini on my list, but I just don't see it happening. He would probablydo a good job.

What do you like about Golden? I just don't see anything in him that makes me want him as our HC.

I don't think Patterson or Shaw are in play at all. I'm not impressed w/ Mike Gundy.

I don't like spread/air attack offenses which is why I'm not fore Gundy or Fedora.

I want a dominating defense & power run game type team.

Why do we need a coach with an outgoing personallity or charisma?

What is wrong with his scheme?

You seriously think he can't recruit? That is what he is known for more than anything else.

It would take a while to type out a post for Golden but what he did at Temple was amazing, he's been dealt a tough hand at Miami. A lot of people in the "know" say Golden is very well respected as a X's & O's coach.

What he did a Temple was great, but IIRC, he never beat a team with a winning record. At Miami, I know it has been tough was the NCAA issues, but he really hasn't done anything to prove that he is a championship level coach. He may be a solid coach, but is very unproven right now, IMO.
